Prince, Metallica and Outkast confirmed for Glastonbury 2014 Festival today?

I imagine Prince will want a piece of what other massive American or global (U2/Stones) stars have had... however also he might be thinking "well I am damned if I am going to bother doing the gig everyone else (exaggeration of course) has already done, if I want to play the UK I will just camp the O2 for a week and earn 20x the dollar".

My main concern with Prince headling is if he brings touring partner Janelle Monae with him.

Has anyone ever watched the video where Kevin Smith tells the story of when he went to Prince's to shoot a documentary? Very entertaining stuff, and he's a very strange guy but I'm sure you already knew that.

if you have 30 odd mins spare (you don't have to watch it, can just listen).

"Mostly nonsense" = there's at least one act which isn't nonsense.

Emily must get loads of messages. She's deliberately responded to that in the most ambiguous way possible. Methinks she's playing with us, the cheeky minx.

I still think Prince is a definite possibility. At this point I'm inclined to say he's more likely than Metallica.

Pixies into Arcade Fire and Outkast into Prince, and I'll forgive them Kasabian regardless of the alternatives.

I think Emily is telling the truth. In my head I think they get a lot of bands that offer to do the festival, and then they get a smaller group of bands that they actively pursue. I don't think anything is sorted for Saturday yet and that one or two of those bands full into those lists. Probably pursuing Prince, but have been offered Outkast. They probably been offered several other bands as well.

I'll only get more optimistic about prince (or outkast for that matter) if efests upgrade it to an SR. At the moment they are the same level as metallica who are much heavier than any large act they've ever booked before and are announced as exclusive elsewhere (so i'd say very unlikely).
