Zacko
Top booking that. Headlining Outlook the same weekend (I think it's the same weekend anyway) so hopefully we can work out what day he's playing from that!
FloorFiller
such an unexpected yet brilliant addition to the lineup!

Frankly Mr Shankly
Lauryn Hill is playing Outlook festival (the same as Busta Rhymes, 3-7 Sep) I hope Rob's managed to book her too.
jonnyx
they're touting BR as a first uk festival appearance, but didn't he play essential festival, Bristol a about 10-15 years ago? Tuna
On the bus to London now, stopping at Bristol and I just woke up, looked out the window and the first thing I see is a sign to Portishead, right next to me. Taking that sign as.. a sign.
smogo
they're touting BR as a first uk festival appearance, but didn't he play essential festival, Bristol a about 10-15 years ago? Tuna
how much overlap can we expect with EotR? from that i'd love Hookworms and Yo La Tengo, obviously already sharing Wild Beasts too
BGW
I can see Temples, Eagulls, Drenge and maybe Stealing Sheep though they seem a bit generic indie festival type band. Otherwise I can definitely see SBTRKT making an appearance, as wells as Lizzo, Jungle. Maybe Cashmere Cat, Darlia and Broken Bells. Not a clue about the Sunday headliner. Bisque
Isn't there usually a poppy Radio 1 type act on around later afternoons usually? Thinking along the lines of Katy B, Example & I think Rizzle Kicks unless this type of act has been announced already?
FloorFiller
new image says Sunday headliners will be announced tomorrow at 7pm - headliners, plural, which is interesting, as (to me) it implies two separate acts, either headlining together (a-la Snoop and Dre at Coachella) or co-headliners al-la The Strokes and Pulp at Reading/Leeds rather than just a band / group (or i'm just looking too much in to that 's')
Tuna
could just be that it's a band not a solo act. seems weird to have 5 headliners !
FloorFiller
but even with a band it's just one band - a headliner - rather than headliners
Tuna
oh i understand your point, i'm just assuming it's one (that way if it's two then it's double trouble) if it were to be 2 though; The National could well be in with a shout? maybe the xx/sigur ros too. cant think who would be big enough to fit the disco theme rly. FloorFiller
i can't even begin to fathom who it could be. Bestival always throws such curveballs that it could be literally anybody. excited though! didn't think we'd be getting the last headliner this soon Edited February 23, 2014 by FloorFiller
dentalplan
I think headliners could mean either but I assume it's just the one also. Major Lazer into The National, that'd be a strange shift in atmosphere. I've no real idea personally, mainly stuck on the idea of Chase + Status still. Gucci Piggy
Chase and Status.
FloorFiller
Chase and Status. is probably the most likely outcome. i hope not though. would be pretty underwhelming
dentalplan
Gonna happen eventually. Might as well get it out of the way with a couple of other top headliners alongside.
Tuna
Oh yeah they said that Major Lazer are subbing on Sunday, well remembered. Might throw your theory out the window, FF! If it is C+S, here's hoping Portishead take the 'Spiritualized' (2012) slot on Sunday night then !
JC-Mo'Fucka
it could be announced on zanes show if it's 7pm which would indicate the type of act who it is. I ruddy hope it's queens (are they ruled out for whatever reason yet?)
kaytee...
The Horrors have got an announcement today. Hope to god it's not them.
smogo
Queens of the Stone Age are exclusive to Download. When The Horrors last played Bestival (2012), it was in the Big Top and they weren't headlining it, so I don't see why they'd be a main stage headliner. The time before that (2009) was in the Big Top in an afternoon slot, to about 30 people.

Or, perhaps they're announcing Sunday night's Main Stage headliner and Big Top or Port headliner, the latter being the official festival-closing act. In recent years the closing acts have been Carl Cox, Orbital, Fatboy Slim and LCD Soundsystem, so I reckon it ought to be the Chemical Brothers' turn.
