  1. The reason why headliners and overall lineups this year seem underwhelming? Because the public are suckers for being TOLD what is good. Lineups are picked on the basis of who the industry tell you that you are supposed to like, when in fact, a lot of these artists are f**king shite with 8 or 9/10 reviews from reviewers who are self satisfied gurners pretending their finger is on the pulse. If the industry wants an act to succeed it gets the airplay and you hear it over and over again until you think it ACTUALLY is good. So, the top end of lineups appear poor, because they're diluted by crap. People moaning about LCD and PJ Harvey being poor picks to be high up? Mental. THEY'RE not the problem. The undercards are actually good too, you just have to do your research as they're not getting pushed. Before you moan about lineups, actually listen to stuff outside what's getting pushed on you. The lineup for Glasto, as ever, will be boss, you might just have to look beyond the Pyramid for it.

  17. It's very popular amongst many of the posters here. Last couple of years it's been opposite Leftfield and very popular with Billy Bragg. https://www.gravyandcustard.co.uk/crumbleshack BTW for me the revelation was that they keep the toppings separate from the fruit. So firstly they can cater for a variety of combinations throughout the day and until late at night, but also whenever you get it the topping is always lovely and crisp.

  18. With bookies odds, the two numbers given are relative to each other - the first one is what you'd win, the second number is your stake. So if as above the odds are 7/2 on Rihanna - A £10 bet would win you £35, plus if you win you get your £10 back. Whereas for Stevie Nicks at 16/1 - A winning £10 bet would return £160 plus the stake back. Except in both cases, neither are headlining so you'd end up with nothing. For a market like this, with everything locked in and ready to announce, no bookie is going to offer odds like that on anyone that they think has even an outside chance of headlining.

  20. She’s bloody brilliant!! I will be at the pointy one with my CMAT is a silly bitch tank top when she plays. Interestingly she chose the stage name CMAT because of SZA. Can’t wait to see her outfit choice at Glastonbury.

  22. Given CTRL and SOS two full listens each last few days. Really wanted to love it as I think her voice is superb (that vocal on ‘All the Stars’ is otherworldly IMHO) but while I can appreciate the quality I didn’t quite get there. Irony is I’d go and see her as a sub and probably be quite excited about it but will most likely be dragged away by headliner level options elsewhere. Which isn’t a bad thing actually as I’m a cert for Dua and Coldplay. Hope she smashes it though* *Secretly I still cling to the hope that it’s Olivia Rodrigo but whoever it is, I hope it’s great.

  26. There will be 2 female headliners most of the information points toward Dua lipa and sza . But she is available and it depends if you like to believe information or not . To me it looks like it will be the two named . Enjoy beat herder and the rest from the weather

  29. SZA might not be your cup of tea but not sure why she’d be a really poor booking choice. IMO she’d be great and I’m looking forward to her set if she plays.

  31. Groupthink maybe. Kylie has always been talentless but loved by the UK middle classes and establishment. Her legends slot simply confirmed this.

  34. Maybe so but they still had a decent sized crowd and I was at the back of the field. Thought they were brilliant too and they’re a bit of a legendary act so make a lot more sense.

  35. This is a great take. The measure I use is “can I name some songs”. Until now there hasn’t been a single Pyramid headliner in the 15 years I have been attending that I haven’t been able to name multiple songs for. Even the many that I didn’t see. In SZAs case I legit can’t name one. So from this I infer that a) im getting old b) streaming metrics mean nothing to me.

  44. It's weird, because I've never considered EE a nepo baby the way the term is bandied around. She runs a business, and she's simply succeeded her father in that position, as a lot of family businesses would.

  47. In fairness with the whole "not being in tune with pop culture thing", pop culture is arguably at its most fragmented than ever. It seems far easier to miss big music hits more than ever these days, particularly with everyone's social media algorithms catering for their interests, and the limitless music options on streaming replacing radio. I quite like SZA's music and 'Good Days' was one of my most played songs a few years ago, but I don't think I've ever heard it in a public setting before or see anyone discuss her much online.
