Last two times they had second line headliner on Razzmatazz, I'd say it gives us XX, ,MBV or Massive Attack.

From these three I think XX are the safest bet, also good friends of the festival

And it’s possible to go to the Wednesday for free without a ticket for the weekend , or do you need to pre book a free slot for the Wednesday ?

just trying to comprehend how it works and whether one could theoretically go for just a free concert ?

For the forum shows you can, but for Razzmatazz I'm pretty sure you need a ticket, or at least you need to book a free ticket which will be hard to get as ticket holders have priority

They can.

But what a weirdly specific thing it would be to make it up.

For what purpose?

Well, since you ask, I find that the likes of Reddit/Discord music things contain about 50% of completely made up stuff. For what purpose? I don't know, I guess attention?

I've just finished watching the lineup video for like 20th time and I have to say it's my favourite release video ever. I love the song, it goes perfectly with the retro video... and that starry font. A work of art.

It even tops my former favourite 2018 wild west video with Carpenter Brut's banger.

I agree. Actually all the branding and the design of the poster this year is really nice.

Tame Impala are playing Barcelona, Madrid, Porto, and Lisbon in April, so no chance.

As for Lorde, I remember seeing her Instagram story where she was praising her favourite music of the summer. And if I remember correctly, she mentioned Big Thief, Addison Rae, Blood Orange, Alex G, and Dijon (maybe also something else, not sure). So it would make sense that she would be excited about the lineup even though she is not there.

Maybe she was afraid her set might clash with one of those you've mentioned. So, to be on the safe side, she's comming next year only as as a regular visitor.

It’s weird seeing them announce an arena tour - after their last album kind of flopped and the singles of this coming album sucking - feel like you should be able to pick up cut-price tickets

This is really interesting

I can believe the drop is true - even if the genx headliners were always likely to play this year anyway. While there was a lot of concern before that people would arrive early and camp by the stages, the big change I saw was people arriving late, and leaving early.

At some festivals, the average spend on food and drink is well over £100 per attendee, so a big hit on that would easily balance out a few thousand extra ticket sales.

Lorde is currently with Blood Orange on tour

I'd believe that the trend exists for sure. Whether it is related to the headliners or not, I can't say, but there is ample evidence out there that younger people are drinking less. And if you realise that the oldest Gen Zs are 27/28, that's potentially a huge slice of the attendance, whether they're there for Addison Rae or the Cure.

Add in the general cost increases in just about everything and it makes sense.

Im closer to 40 than I'd care to admit and I know I'd buy fewer beers at next year's event, and a big part of that is down to the general rise in costs. Not squarely at the festivals feet - my air bnb cost more. My flight cost more. Etc so I need to make cuts somewhere.

Now whether that has seeped into booking trends or whether this year's festival headliners are representative of who is available this summer rather than a wholesale change in approach, I don't think any of us can say for sure.

But it is an interesting talking point, I think!
