So annoyed at myself - I had even revised the order from a Priority access pic someone posted on here, but panicked!

Me too but nevermind, got an application in for Wateraid and also Avalon Bars - Oxfam will have spaces made available after the resale too and there's always a chance of getting a resale ticket so all is not lost.

I must have just been lucky with my refresh. Went straight to the page, clicked all 3 (sneaky!) tick boxes without reading them and it just went straight thorough. Had to abandon Stripe and go to Google pay but that worked straight away. Can't believe it! Need 1 more through, will need to keep an eye out after resales.

Congrats to those who got them!

Wife managed to bag hers within 30 secs with Apple Pay! Got mine with priority last week so we’re both chuffed to be in early on.

To those who weren’t as lucky, don’t give up. We managed to get my wife a spot a week before the festival last year due to a few cancelled spots appearing. There will also still be a few general resales before then, so keep the faith 👍

What's the feeling on Oxfam as a volunteering experience vs the likes of Greenpeace, WaterAid, Avalon Bars, etc.  I've got a number of other applications in and (in the vanishingly small chance I get another offer) should I stick or twist?

mate of mine did oxfam maybe 15 years ago... had a great time and i went to their sunday night party which ended up getting very messy... in a good way...

no personal experience of actually working tho... sorry...

It really depends on what you like doing - bar work would be much faster paced, potentially noisy, and i've got to be honest there's not much more i'd hate these days! Oxfam is stewarding so can often be right on the very perimeter of the festival, great swathes will involve standing around (or if you're on one of the main gates you'll be rammed busy all the time) but i dont mind it at all, the shifts go by pretty quickly. I'd aim to get there as soon as is practicable on the monday, cos you can have a good wander around the site while its all quiet and clean, and pitch up in the Oxfield. The staff bars and the showers would be the two main advantages that working provide, as well as parking in the field next to the campsite.

I quite fancy the look of Wateraid as well, i'd like to know where they camp, but thats 6hr shifts that start in the campsite, and when you're done you're done. As long as there's good showers etc, that would be pretty decent.

    • as if by magic... (but don't tell anyone that it isn't that easy to just cut welfare and that maybe taxes will have to go up)
    • Lost my love of football years ago so I pay very little attention to it these days but I'm really enjoying Max Rushden's video diaries of his flat share with Barry Glenddening. I think Barry might kill him before the end of the tournament
