Surely if that's true, it puts them in the frame?

Ā

They'd be too big of a draw for an Other Stage headline slot.Ā

ive not read it as im not able but isnt the presumption that they'd take a big payday as opposed to Glastonbury ?

Headlining Pyramid or bust for them, there wouldn't be any other slot they'd probably acceptĀ

At a push could they do Legends slot?Ā

100%. Any reunion would, on the first go around at least, be about picking up the big paydays. Glastonbury would be a long shot at best. Just like this rumour being true (when all the others haven't been) is a long shot.

Times article says the rumourĀ is they’ve booked 10 nights at Wembley (beating Taylor Swift) and that there’s a rumour Glastonbury headline ā€œmay be added to their scheduleā€. Nothing concrete except that Liam Gallagher apparently sent a tweet to a fan saying ā€œsee you down the frontā€. Still seems just a rumour but definitely maybe they’ll headline 2025 …

Pyramid headliners all day long, not a chance would they accept the Legend slot.Ā
Ā

It would easily be the most talked about headline slot in years.Ā

I expect so, and that's certainly what most think, however in 2000 they sold out a number of UK stadiums before being announced as Reading/Leeds headliners. That said, I'd expect their big return to be at their own gigs, with maybe Glasto lined up next time around

I’d expect this headline from the s*n or daily star, but is The Times a bit of an odd one to run this story?

The veneer of respectability they have makes me think this could be more reputable than some other links for Oasis reunions I've seen in the past. And certainly the traffic has been building up for this exact rumour for a while.

Ā

Admittedly the fact I once found Noel Gallagher boring when seeing him at a Paris festival means I was unlikely to get involved anyway.

Just to break up the Oasis chat with some Fred Again… at Reading - yeah, the ā€œhe’s not big enough to do Glastonburyā€ takes are starting to look more and more ridiculous.

Crowd is tres large. Production seems well improved since his last trip to the Farm.

its the stage that makes the difference. When you have that much led screen it makes everyone in the back feel like theyre in it just like in the front. Coachella has had this type of stage for 8 years and counting. Makes a big difference. Pyramid doesnt have this so he will have to keep the energy up to make up for the lack of immersion. He has retooled the set though. Just keep the talking down and make it fun. Itll go off well.

Dua Lipa's headlineset had enough lights, visuals, and lasers to keep the vibes good at the back of the hill. No big crazy screens required.

If they did the Legends slot, could be one of the biggest legend acts they've ever had. Noel on his own got a hefty crowd in 2022. But a 30-year anniversary of What's the Story Morning Glory would be MASSIVE.Ā

Ā

Remember listening to it on a cassette player on school trips, lol, crunching through tracks. I'm not even a big fan but would probably attend

Fred has a lot of slow songs if he is given a full set time. Reading was 75 mins so he cut out the more chill aspects. If he has that extra half an hour that he normally has Ā you will have low energy sections. Ā Just saying from production standpoint it makes a difference if youre standing in the back and you can see everything. Loads of people can attest to not feeling like part of the show if youre in the back of that field cause there can be a disconnect for one reason or another. The set yesterday very much raised his odds because fred is learning how to deal with these large crowds now. Im sure the stadium show in june gave him lots of insight as to what works and what doesnt when you got 70,000 people watching you.Ā

I usually think Oasis reunion rumours are bollocks, but the fact the official Oasis YouTube channel has uploaded a new interview with Noel where he's singing Liam's praises throughout makes me think something is definitely afoot. Just seems odd that they are sharing this content now, paying for Noel to go up to Manchester to get filmed and interviewed in a record shop, if there's nothing at all to promote?

    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!Ā  Ā  I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.Ā  Ā  Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
    • No complaints about the sound. We were like 2nd set of steps facing stage right in like the middle row.
    • On the whole then, yay or nay...I've had a look on festivals united and there's people who seem converted by Rock Im Park, I can imagine it might be different if it was a washout as RaR is tarmac. Ā  The hotel side would be more to convince the non campers if it's an option. On my first visit to rock am ring we were shuttled into the area where you could stick the car next to the tent which was fantastic as it meant zero lugging of camping gear.
    • An interesting thing this. Having seem them several times (some of their gigs veer into back catalogue niche territoty), I partly agree they arent Pyramid material (theough modern defeinition of 'bangers' although I could see them headlinging the Other stage) I can't think of another festival in the world that they couldn't headline - Reading, IoW, BST, Rock Wercheter, Roskilde, etc etc.
