where did the fred again intel come from? becaused hes just posted on his insta stories that he is performing in japan this year? So not burn out? After seeing this id be suprised if he had turned down the pyramid?

People seem to be very confident on the other two … would be lovely to have a curveball … its pyramid headline or nothing though surely ?

Probably a big difference between doing some under the radar shows in the Far East and headlining the biggest stage in British music.

it doesnt sound like they are under the radar? It was just a question on where the burn out theory came from, people are so sarcastic on here all the time...................

Yes the biggest stage in british music and he is at his peak, which is why i wondered why he would turn it down, and why i asked if the burn out theory came from good intel. Merely a question

He still has to create a show and all that stuff. Maybe didnt want to put all that energy into a couple of gigs. I mean the Coliseum show was 8 months in the making. You think its easy to just do Glasto? He mightve wanted to try some things and it was just going to take up too much of his time and decided to not do it.

are we underpricing charli xcx headlining pyramid, and getting a curveball (not o-rod / 1975 / same fender / fred a) as third headliner?

I think she needs to be on Pyramid one way or another as to not cause a literal stampede. And if she was against Neil Young you are asking for a disaster at Other.

Here's your reminder that UK is not the same as USA.

Keep forgetting that Charli XCX is the biggest artist to have ever played Glastonbury

I think it's just said to be a wind up at this point. You can't travel from the US to Glastonbury that many times and genuinely think all artists over there will play the same here. Lido is now tier 4 at £90 but it's only 35k.

She definitely isn't as big as some people are making out, but there is some truth in the fact that she built a culture of 'Fear of missing out' last year, which grabbed people's attention. There will be a lot of people who won't want to miss out on the Brat era performance.

Hopefully, it will be a nice balance with Neil Young. Her crowd will definitely be healthy.

It'll be busy, but fine.

However, seeing or anticipating a busy field is enough to cause some folk on here to lose all sense of perspective.

She is getting hyped to be a bigger deal than she is, she done one night in London, Birmingham, Manchester which is a standard for a lot of acts that can do arenas who spread them through south to north and Glasgow. Loads of acts do this without questioning of over crowding.

anyone thinking Charli XCX is gonna be a danger to the Other stage needs to get a grip and calm down. Fred Again was bigger when he played the other year

pretty sure it's just Supre' ready to call a code red emergency situation! 😉

Yeah fair enough, can add that to the long list of stuff he is wrong about.

Charli XCX is massive with Gen z which does not make up a massive amount of the Glasto crowd as far as I can tell. Also as mentioned loads of times she can't even sell out Victoria Park. Will it be busy if she plays? Probably. Will it be dangerous? No.

It's been shown a few times now that the only time that the crowds get daft are when they massively underestimate the appeal of people and put them on way too small a stage or when you have silly scheduling like the Avril Lavigne thing last year.

Nah. Charli way more widely known and the brat thing is going to have an effect. Will be very busy. Who was Fred Again(st)?

He was against Royal Blood I think.

The Brat thing as in the tour where she played the o2 once then manchester birmingham and glasgow arenas? That's pretty normal. The more online you are, the bigger she seems. Genuinely don't see how she is much bigger than Fred Again in 2023.

She's had 35,000 tickets on sale since November for Lido.

Using that metric, she's as popular as BLACKPINK.

She'll have a big crowd, but no danger.

I know she's more popular than that really

    • It can take around 30-45 mins to walk from the arena back to the transport hub with the crowds, depending on density. Allow even longer in poor conditions. I don't think you'd need to leave Linkin Park early though, you have at least an hour and 20 minutes to walk to transportation. I certainly wouldn't leave early in your shoes, knowing I can just walk to the airport if needs be (2 mile walk and another 30 - 45 min walk depending on your walking speed and conditions.) Maybe just don't linger too long for the toilet / food after Linkin Park have finished.  It will definitely make sense and all just fall into place on the night, don't worry too much and have a great time. The very worst that can happen is a little extra walking to the Airport Skylink bus stop, as those Skylink busses are 100% 24 hour. 🙂  GFS, ICON and ECMWF are ALL in agreement on the latest runs.... After a mildly moist Weds and Thurs, high Pressure building from Friday... Lets just hope they continue to agree... ☀️☀️☀️
