Oh yes please.

I'm worried that as things stand we only have around 2-4 weeks of solid Charli XCX crowd size debates left in us before the poster drops and the topic potentially gets lost in the shuffle.

As much as I'll be watching Neil, from a pure entertainment / TV point of view, I agree.

One to mull - which artist is going to walk away from their slot having won more neutrals over? Imagine on the box, it will be Rodrigo, but could buy The 1975 managing it in the field itself if Healy keeps himself firmly on course.

Just a single anecdote but one of my fave memories from all the Reading festivals I've gone to.

We were in the front pit in 2022 waiting for the 1975 to come on. There was an American couple we chatted to, they said they had booked the trip just to see RATM and had never listened to the 1975. Said to them you gonna love this. Their faces were like 😮 😮 as the band came on and one song in they were pushing forward to get closer to the stage. Rarely seen such an immediate 'dunno who they are but they're great' reaction 😄

Are you sure they weren’t moving forwards to get out more easily?

Firmly in the "no thanks" camp for 1975. Was bad enough standing through about 3 songs in Williams Green when they did the secret set around 10 years ago. Won't be subjecting myself to a full headliner set, so strongly hoping that the rumours are wrong.

I simply don't like their music in any way, definitely not for me. Will be at Amyl and the Sniffers if they headline The Park as rumours are suggesting.

I'd rather watch the stone circle sniffers than 1975 to be honest. Even if they do headline, there will no doubt be several other options. It's Glastonbury afterall.

Getting so unoriginal and boring all these the 1975 comments. If you dislike them that much they don't deserve your thoughts & words.

There's 99+ acts on at the same time so not sure why people are so bothered about one act. There's plenty of acts I'm not mad on (1975 being one) but so boring whining about it. Crack on and have a good time.

This is a general 2025 headliners thread, not the 1975 thread.  There's 450 pages of people making positive and negative comments about the rumoured headliners.

If people were just popping in to the 1975 thread to say they were sh*t, i'd agree with you but all comments are valid in this post and Matt Healy is a w*nker.

Exactly , this is a thread to discuss the potential headliners. Why shouldn't we pass comment? A band like them is so underwhelming, especially compared to some headliners over the years.

AC/DC are touring and playing in Scotland in August. They are far from my favourite band, but they are more like a band worthy of headlining Glastonbury. Not tripe like 1975, who let's face it, opinions are very divided. At least with other headliners like Beyonce or Kendrick Lamar. I'm not a fan of their music on a personal level but can appreciate they are good at what they do.

This continuous and relentless comparing of the two is exhausting, the fact of the matter is they are two completely different beasts. As someone who has grown up on British festivals what I’ve seen of it is a turn off. Opinions are like ars*holes we all have them

Sorry you believe that 10 influencers control your narrative of an event despite that becoming a thing with Glasto now.

Respectfully I see very few influencers at Glastonbury as I spend most of my time in either the Acoustic, Avalon or Left Field

What have 10 influencers got to do with you constantly comparing the two festivals?

Imagine letting Fender , previously successful sub, whose currently slaying the UK on dates , sales and general decency, slip through the net while you book last years live band who are right now in court defending the onstage creepy behaviour they find acceptable. If it’s ‘75 no Fender, they’ve dropped the ball massively.

(Assuming he hasn’t said nah).

Imagine booking either of them. Dull generic guitar band or bloke you could find in any random pub open mic night

A couple of dudes kissing onstage is now considered creepy behavior?

It’s the perfect pyramid headliner. Everyman singer songwriter that will get the tv audience onboard. Peak Glasto innit.

If he’s the perfect Pyramid headliner then the Pyramid “has gone”.

Here’s some actual perfect Pyramid headliners: Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Stevie Wonder. Even the likes of Elton John are a million times more suitable

Respectfully I spend my time all over the place from the Pyramid to Arcadia and everywhere in between, and I’ve never seen an “influencer”. Sometimes people make out that it’s 99% influencers when the reality is they make up less than 0.1% and even then, I imagine they spend most of their time just enjoying the festival like everyone else.

I doubt it'll to be the same level as the new Fyre Festival if that doesn't crash as badly as the first one did.

Though maybe wanting to see if it'll be like the festival equivalent of the Glasgow Willy Wonka event last year is part of the appeal now.
