THIS WEEKEND

The Pilton forcefield is in play in this update, with the rain pushed out eastwards. There will be some rain on the site, but nothing of any concern.

And the good news is that the high pressure appears to be winning the battle. So far.

I'm watching this run, and that high out to the west, it looks like it could be pushed away further West by the low from the North... I hope I'm wrong 😞

Didn't something similar happen in 2019?

Correct. There was lots of rain about in 2019, especially in the immediate lead up and every rain band that swept across the south west managed to mostly miss Pilton

Beleive in the force field.

If there is a force field, they installed it in 2017, because in 2014, 2015, 2016 the exact opposite was true - it was the Pilton localised downpour magnet.

First two days of the festival.

WEDNESDAY

Light rain around during the day, but it does clear later. But a high of JUST 13.

The low is skirting the east of the UK, rather than taking over, but it's still having a bad influence.

THURSDAY

A dry day, temps recovering to 18.

High pressure appears to be trying to fight back for the weekend.

Our work Met Advisor has just sent me this.  indicating that it is all still to play for..

Biq question marks currently over how much rain falls in SW England in general Sunday/Monday as the brief burst of heat Fri/Sat is displaced away S’wards. Hence it could be quite wet or the rain may have been soaked up with no issues. Monday itself could well see some residual rain falling in the Glastonbury area and there remains potential for some showers possibly heavy/thundery during the first half of next week. Alternatively it could become largely dry – it’s a very volatile situation and the models haven’t yet nailed down which way things will go. The trend later next week is more definitely pointing towards settled weather and warming up again.

Enjoy whatever the weather but take wellies or strong boots just in case !!!
