I was wondering why The Strokes weren't announced for NOS Alive today....

What is confirmed in Mad Cool and Bilbao BBK usually comes NOS Alive and then there is always a headliner who has not been to any of the 2 festivals in Spain that comes to NOS Alive, however they were in the 2021 line-up and are on tour in 2022 , but the possibilities that may exist is that The Strokes only do June , or they do not want to do festivals or more likely it is that Alive 's organization will keep the suspense around their names since they are neither in Mad Cool nor in Bilbao... but there are few Strokes fans in Portugal.

this is the only place in which there are many the strokes fans, they are acclaimed and requested in every topic but outside of here they din't really seem praised

Do the Strokes in Portugal have fans? even today I read Ken saying that he sold little to the Strokes in Portugal.

I'd like to hear some news from Roskilde and Open'e because they need to fill a few open headliner spots too.

There should be at least 1 larger name that we currently don't know yet....

Or I am completely wrong and Foo Fighters will close RW on sunday 😄

True story, outside communities like this they are not that popular. Except in the UK and Primavera, where they will exactly have the crowd they need.
BKS had the same problem, they didn’t sell enough tickets, and they are very expensive.

When they were announced for Werchter, I’ve heard and read a lot of the same comments: who are they? Never heard of them… Where are bands like Foo Fighters?

What a day that was, when they announced The Strokes. Remember them teasing towards 12:51. Dream come true to finally have them at Werchter. This is it.

The reactions on the announcement were all really great too, actually.

Hope it happens... Someday.

When they came to Sziget in 2012 the only people who watched them were British as well

As far as I know most of European promoters weren't happy about that tour - the band was expensive and asked for a headliner place, while in the end the crowds at their shows were too small for headliners (except for FIB, guess why 🙂).

Strange… I saw her 5-6 times until then. But it was the least impressive show. And there was totally no crowd.

The album she was touring didn't transfer well to a big festival set up.  Much more of a intimate sounding album, wonderful serlist though.

Can't really see bjork playing another mainstream festival, apart from the likes of roskilde/Glastonbury/primavera.

From HellFest line-up I'd take NIN, FnM, Rise Against, Gary Clark Jr , Rival Sons and Myles Kennedy in a heartbeat. I know not all of them will appear on our bill (Graspop needs bands too) but first four would be my dream come true 😄

Put Royal Blood before Pearl Jam, remove Imagine Dragons and put TOP in their place and it looks somewhat realistic.

Personally think sunday is way too weak in comparison to the Friday/Saturday

Yeah this will never happen: Faith No More too low, The War On Drugs and Royal Blood way too low. But if, I wouldn´t complain.

    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
