curse these metal hands
Think I am one of the few on here who is hoping the Macca tour announcement has US dates all over Glasto weekend. Zero interest in Billie Kendrick or Macca so would like one Pyramid headliner to entice me

I'm like you in that the three currently listed won't do a huge amount for me, but equally there's no one pyramid-sized that I'd want them replaced with so I'm quite happy focusing on other stages and writing off pointy headliners for this year. That's a fair point. I cant think of many realistic names for this year that I would want instead (maybe The 1975 but they are now being rumoured for a secret set anyway). Hopefully some of the names being floated about for next year like Swift, Arctics or Elton come true and I can make up for lack of pyramid time this year (if I get a ticket!) shivroy
Are the 1975 actually being rumoured for a secret set or is that just wishful thinking from their fanbase

I'm in the same boat. Would have liked Foals to get a night. Then for me, Greenday, Noel G, ACDC would have all been ace I know GD are playing Glasto weekend but given all the shifting around I'm sure a deal could have been done. However I feel if they are offered the chance of a secret set they would take it, on the hope that it may help them with a headline slot in the future

You’re likely getting both Foals and NG there so surely you must be happy?

I'm more than happy to do this as well. McCartney is the only one of the three I have any interest in but I saw him on the Pyramid in 2004 and again at Anfield a few years later. Loved both times, but if the Interrupters / Reytons / were up against him, I'd drop him in a heartbeat. I never understand why we get so obsessed by the Pyramid headliners when there is so much more going on. One of my all time best decisions at Glastonbury was to miss the Killers in 2007, and go early to Lost Vagueness. A night of hedonistic fun followed by secret-ish gigs in the Casino by Madness and FatBoy Slim. Still the best single evening in my Glastonbury career! Miyn
They (The 1975) were rumoured for a secret set in 2020, and in my opinion, were one of the headliners for 2021 that Emily had "pencilled in". I think there's a good chance they'll play as a secret set this year. Edited February 18, 2022 by Miyn
Matt42
Billie, Macca, Kendrick is pretty solid for me. The only thing I will do is probably see a huge chunk of Dua, but make sure I’m at McCartney for the grand finale.
CaledonianGonzo
Secret set is an ideal face-saving move for the 1975 lads after a severe case of failure to launch.

I'm sure it wont be a problem as Foals are one of my favourites and I'll find fun elsewhere but something about not having a personal 'top 10 favourite artist' headlining a festival im at doesnt sit well with me. Matt42
It’s actually somewhat nuts to me that someone wouldn’t find something to see in Billie, Macca, Kendrick.

Somto Unigwe Raphael
If I get a ticket then it’s probably a weekend of Simz/Foals, Macca, Kendrick for me which is pretty good. One (maybe 2) headliners I love, 1 band I like and enjoy live, and then hopefully Macca isn’t shite, or else I’d probably have time to leave and arrive for a full headline set on another stage. If your having a good time at one, I don't see much point in leaving to see something else. You could spend 15 minutes trying to get from one stage to another, only to be right at the back for the 2nd act. Even if the end of Macca is just as good of a time as you were having at Dua, you've still missed however long you spent getting between them. It's something I'd never do really, unless I was having an atrocious time somewhere, but I'd never plan it in advance. Will be interesting to see if you can make it work. Hugh Jass
Not fancying Macca because you’d prefer The 1975 is like turning down a free meal in a Michelin started restaurant because you fancy a Greggs.
