It's not quite QAnon but this new craze is helping to kill the time until 3rd March when Biden gets arrested

http://news.sky.com/story/dad-to-be-killed-after-gender-reveal-party-device-explodes-12226480

I read that as ‘dad to be killed...’ then realised its ‘dad-to-be killed...’

Not politics but from the States and has some rather scary implications for that whole murky world:

I've been saying this for some time now. There needs to be some serious laws concerning deep fakes. Something along the lines of they must always be declared, or even watermarked as such, and anyone not doing so is liable for fraud.

Let's not wait until an election is swung at the last minute due to a deep fake going viral around unwitting social media users, or even worse, someone becomes the victim of misguided vigilante justice due to same.

I'm building a deep fake detector for a uni project. I had to write a bit about ethics and motivation for it at the start of the year. At the moment the vast majority of deep fakes are porn, pretty much all of it is unconsensual. Either movie stars have been turned into porn stars against their will or even just normal people. There are stories of women discovering fake porn of them has been shared around their offices.

So far there hasn't been much evidence of it being used maliciously in politics. The one definite case of a definite deep fake I did find related to politics was still a woman being a victim of fake porn. There was an Indian journalist that wrote an article criticising the government and shortly afterwards a fake porn video of her went viral, which she thinks was an attempt to silence her.

Not to say it couldn't be used in politics. Also a concern is if it becomes more common place you could also see politicians dismiss real videos of them as fake. I think Donald Trump initially admitted that video of him talking about grabbing woman by the pussy was real, then later on tried to claim it was a fake.

Sadly, I think it will always be a cat and mouse game where better detectors just lead to better deep fake creators. One of the methods of creating them is a generative adversarial network, which is basically pitting 2 neural networks against each other. One tries to create fake videos and the other tries to tell if a video is real or has been created by the other neural net. So basically if someone creates a brilliant deep fake detector it can be used by the baddies to train a better deep fake creator

Turns out some (sex worth unerage, trafficking)of the qanon stuff was true but for trump sidekickshttps://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/apr/03/matt-gaetz-republican-sex-trafficking-scandal?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other

Here's betting the nutters won't make a fuss abou it.

It’s all projection. Qanon’s whole ‘the Dems are child molesters’ schtick is just a big scheme to take the attention away from the fact that Don and his cronies are all mass offenders themselves.

This Matt Gaetz guy is a raging bellend. Paying for underage prostitutes using cash apps - what a fucking idiot.

It's documented that Donny's model agency was importing underage girls who were trafficked for sex. Plenty to Epstein.

    • Had a wonderful booking in one of our primary woodland venues this weekend. A 30th birthday arranged by a load of musicians and entertainment industry professionals. It was primarily a folk oriented event, however I noticed one young woman who didn’t seem to fit dress and appearance wise. Turned out to be Frenetic, one of the top up and coming UK Jungle and DnB DJ’s.    Anyway Saturday night turned into an EDM session and I got to do a set. Slightly nervous considering who was there, it was great and Frenetic loved my set. She’s closing Data Mine at Shambala this year.
    • they got lucky and the thunderstorms stayed away. It was still wet of course. Some of those boot sucking puddles did emerge from what a couple friends saw who were there.  Post fest aerial also below   and also a sapphic mud wrestling contest?
    • It's even less funny when in real life too...   Liddle met Rachel Royce and the couple soon became romantically involved.[84] In January 2004 the couple married at a ceremony in Malaysia. They had been living in Heytesbury, Wiltshire, and had two sons together. Six months later, Liddle moved in with Alicia Monckton, a 22-year-old receptionist at The Spectator. It transpired that he had cut short his honeymoon with Royce so that he could be with Monckton. Following their divorce, Liddle and Royce exchanged attacks in the media. Liddle called her a "total slut and slattern"
