To be fair the fact it was used to terrify us that we could end up the same, which didn't seem possible  with our number of vaccines, does sort of warrant some follow up pieces

They used absolute numbers for there without ever showing the context that we were always much worse per capita

used to terrify us? It was a massive health crisis in India, loads of people dying etc. I mean, if you don't want to watch horrible shit on the news switch over,

they used pictures that showed hospitals stretched to the max , just like they did for china , new york , the uk , italy ... the news was showing health services creaking all over the world ... its news .... it sells/generates clicks thats the simplicity of it ....  was it actually used to terify us ? or has that happened ? there have been a  few posts of late saying the opposite ? probably its terrified a few in reality but I cant see that as any ultimate aim

Kids can't go to nightclubs or festivals.

I was thinking about this but can we say that is a direct cause of mental health issues along with no holidays ..... granted its not great for anyone that enjoys those things and is a great release ... but id say we have lost the restrictions now that would cause the issues ... like not being able to see mates ... although the knock on effect will still be happening

what lockdowns that are currently in place are causing mental health issues ?

Missing time in school through bubbles isolating.
Missing their friends through those periods and less socialising outside of school throughout the pandemic until very recently.
Being very far behind in academic terms.
The school day being far from normal with bubbles and one way systems and staggered start, finish, break and lunch times.
Constant fear in the media and social media when they’re at a very impressionable age.

There’s a few things for you.

some of those things aren't current ? they have built up over the whole pandemic period .....  cant disagree some of those things are ongoing and will hopefully end soon

Which ones aren’t current?

being very far behind in academic terms ...... isnt because of current restrictions per say .... its because of the restrictions that kids have had to suffer throughout ? and because of the huge amount of school missed and home learning rather than whats going on at this moment

When you boil water in a pan it doesn't boil over straight away.

Dont forget, we're approaching exam season - which your told will make or break the rest of your life.

2 of the best years of their lives have been stolen from them. Me and my mates still talk about stupid shit that happened while we were in sixth form some youngsters have missed that whole two years of 'normal'

The easing of rules has brought home to me how much I've missed out on and I'm not going anymore. I've had my fun, imagine what it feels like if your younger.
