Jesus Christ, the idea that we can't protest against the murder of a young woman by a policeman without being arrested by the same police force he worked for (& was protected by)..... I genuinely don't think I've ever been angrier!!!!

They always look after their own

Anti police bullshit is so lame

Same police who run towards armed terrorists and save lives?

This is an issue of command not individual police.

By all means attack what happened tonight but to just slam the police as a whole is disgusting.

Nope, they're c**ts. Call me disgusting if you want, but anyone with any decency knows what's really disgusting!

So much for innocent until proven guilty.

The people on the cesspit football forum I’m on are up in arms about the “disgraceful behaviour” of these women at an “illegal gathering” - and are defending the police asking “what else are they supposed to do?” Not violently abuse women, maybe?

Sometimes it is interesting - and normally upsetting- to get out of our bubble on here and see the views of what is clearly more like the majority of the general public (this forum they’re all Tories and hate any other “pathetic politics”).

You are cowardly

You sit there and slam the whole police force based off isolated incidents where they got it wrong - sometimes very wrong - while giving no acknowledgement to the vast majority of times on a daily basis where they get it right.  Saving lives, protecting children and women from the most disgusting abuse, dealing with murders, rapes, theft, assaults, terrorists....

I bet you wouldn’t last a day!   In the police force or without it.

oh and punk is dead.  It was dead on arrival

When they do get it wrong though, what happens to them?

You don't need to go further afield than this forum to get these type of views, when I posted a video of a women being arrested without due cause by the police I got the response above, whether it is acceptable for the police to brutalise people seems to depend on who they are doing it to, lockdown protesters are fair game but when they use the same tactics today they are "out of control", the fact is they have been doing the same thing for much of last year, because the protests were small and the main media weren't interested it was left to citizen journalists to film and post the videos on youtube, it's ironic that "Subject Access" has now had his videos linked to on here, he has himself been arrested without good reason when reporting on previous demos. After months of reporting people now want to see what the police are doing. No doubt the police will be blamed but they are literally "only following orders" Khan and Patel will try to deflect the blame but it's obvious where this came from.

This is what you posted and you got blasted for it.  This was deemed okay and ignored by others now showing outrage towards the police.  It seems enforcing lockdown rules with violence is sometimes okay for some but not other times ?  Seems to come down to the cause and not core principles.

it’s interesting how

Protest policing has always had a large degree of nuance and flexibility in the tactics used. On the ground police commanders have discretion in tactics deployed. They have to use appropriate judgement.

Mostly so as not to further enflame a situation and cause further protests or violence

Nothing to do with perceived agreement with a cause.

I was referring to the judgement of certain posters here.  Many didn't bat an eyelid when this women was manhandled away and some defended the action.

It seems we are comfortable with the police roughing up women as long as we don't agree with their cause.

On the flip side when rangers fans celebrated their winning of the league and arrests was made it was applauded that arrests were made.  Both are mass gatherings.

I don't like the current restrictions that are in place, and I really hope that they are temporary and we can get back to being able to hold vigils, protests, celebrations street parties any other mass gatherings but sadly for the time being irrespective of the cause it's illegal.

No it wasn't!!  Not on this thread.

I posted saying Rangers fans where out of order and I got a boat load of down votes.  😀

Wad there arrests?  Seemed at the timepolice stood back and did nothing.

28 arrests, 7 fixed penalty notices ranging from breaking Covid restrictions to punching a copper.

They were putting the easing of Covid restrictions at risk according to Nicola Sturgeon.
