Looks like the Christmas truce is well and truly over on here!

Peace on earth and goodwill to all men only lasts about 72 hours these days! 🙂

It’s still ongoing, just because one person went for someone doesn’t change that. Everyone else is being civil and lovely 😃

I was just waiting for you to show up ...

How would you suggest I more politely bring up the fact the guy is moaning about people being allowed to fly in and out the country while he himself is flying to Europe? There’s no delicate way to say it - the guys a hypocrite plain and simple.

You could stop doing it? Jamie obviously felt conflicted about that trip all along and has otherwise been entirely consistent. He even deferred his university place a second year to avoid the virus. It doesn't add anything to the discussion to bring up the Germany trip.

Play the ball, not the man, and be kind. There's nothing put on about his anxiety.

Blaming the government for you deciding to go on holiday during a pandemic is a bit of a stretch.
Just because you’re allowed to do something doesn’t mean you can’t make your own judgments.

I guess everyone is making judgement calls based on personal circumstances and moments in time .... looking back maybe my judgement to eat out help out once was maybe wrong and a mistake ... we are all learning during this ... Now obviously I and we know more so id make a different call

all you do is moan about people moaning.

Prick.

Think the Glastonbury spirit is wearing off some people because they haven’t been for so long and it might be a while until they go again.

try and be nice, try to have empathy, you don’t always have to try and highlight people’s mistakes or opinions which don’t match your own. You can keep those thoughts to yourself and try and post positive messages and increase the mood rather than drag it down.

He felt so concerned about the trip that he chose to go on and now he says he’s concerned about the open border policy the gov has? Sorry that is ridiculous and unrealistic.

I’ve not even called out the guy for choosing to go abroad it’s the hypocrisy it’s followed with which is infuriating.

Just stop going for people, have a look at your posts nearly all of them are going for people for something they do or don’t do on here. You do it quite frequently and can seem quite personal at times. It’s against the spirit of Glastonbury and simply isn’t very nice.

I’m not going to say anymore and derail the thread but take a look at your posts for a minute and you’ll see most of them are criticising people.

So you have no issue with someone going abroad during the pandemic then moaning that the government is allowing people to go abroad during the pandemic?

This forum is insane at times lol. Some of the strictest people I’ve ever heard when it comes to stopping the Spread of the virus but apparently no one has an issue with that.

I don’t really have an issue with anyone going abroad, if I could have afforded it I would have gone on holiday this summer too.
But blaming the government for allowing it is a poor excuse.

I think closing the borders is a dumb idea. But Jamie is clearly just talking through his anxiety. I think its fair to point out that you think he's being hypocritical but people are entitled to their separate opinions on it, and i don't think its massively an issue.

Meh. People knew travelling abroad during a pandemic is a bad idea. They took the view the individual benefit outweighed the individual risk. Which Is fair enough, but people need to take some personal responsibility for that decision

It's not an opinion, it's just an outright fact. The only reason it's become an issue is because some of the  usual sensitive folks on this thread get upset by it.

And then not come on here and say how bad the government allowing foreign travel is after they've been abroad themselves...

Are you ok? You’ve gone for a couple of people in this thread in the last week, I’m concerned you aren’t doing well. If things are getting too much take a step back.
