My kid is out protesting tomorrow apparently. Not sure if it's kill the bill, reclaim the streets or anti lockdown. Maybe she'll get arrested and get on tv.

Yep, this isn't actually difficult to understand (or unreasonable) but some people feel the need to pretend that they don't understand the basic concept every time they post the daily data, and in no way is it tedious!

The protest I was watching was really pushing that as a big one on the live comments thing ... does seem like the numbers seem to be increasing though now ... for me though the lack of clarity about what the protest focus is ... defeats the object somewhat ... although of course it is bound to get other causes involved ... no way of stopping that

I do think if we are in the same low deaths/hospitalisations/cases position in a few weeks, perfectly reasonable to expect and ask for a speed up. Lockdown isn't a good thing and should go asap

The government have created the calling for speeding up themselves by drilling home the ‘data not dates’ slogan though. It works both ways, and the data is certainly pointing towards maybe speeding up the roadmap.
Soon it may be difficult for them to justify why it can’t move faster. But we’ll have to see how it goes.

I'm moving towards a quicker unlocking of outdoor activities.

If the old tiers system was still in place most of country would be in tier 2 with shops open and indoor hospitality. Half the population has since been vaccinated and over 50's done soon. Massive lockdown fatigue for me personally.

It’s looking great at the moment ... but could you or is there any data available for unlocking with the jabs in play .? We are part of a real life experiment 🧪 and It’s better to take a slower route than have to reverse surely ? Not long now untill we meet groups of mates again outside and that’s going to help ... I think you were saying that people were ignoring restrictions anyway ... ? So is that much more mental damage being done ? Maybe just economic at this stage ? I’m feeling better as I can see the end

it was always data at  set dates though...with those dates being the earliest that next stage of opening could happen.

Maybe they will speed things up, I don't know...but the roadmap wasn't totally determined by data alone.

I'm broadly ok with the dates but the school are the major infection point really. I dont see why we can't speed some elements up if cases are still staying low this time next week. 

For example, less restrictions in May for indoor hospitality. Or museums to open in April.

To be honest I reckon if it was a month ahead in the calendar maybe they would bring forward the outdoor pub thing, but it's so cold you'd get people either just not going (so economically not justifiable) or getting cold and carrying on at people's houses

It is a perfectly valid argument, but does it have to be made in the "data not dates" way EVERY day? We're not able to change policy, you're lobbying the wrong people!
