Winslow Leach
I know it could be seen as a bit ‘Basic Weatherall’, but fuck me Loaded really is an all timer isn’t it?

Don't make any apologies for it, great-is-great. The one-upmanship of proclaiming a preference to an artist's esoteric back catalogue for cool points that tends to occur in these situations gets on my pip. Loaded is, as you say, an all-timer. A stone-cold, generation-defining classic.

rubick
Still in shock at the news. There are DJs and producers in the scene, then there's Andy Weatherall. Blessed to have seen him so many times over the years in Belfast, Derry and Dublin. Just last week my partner and I bought tickets to ATN in Waterford purely because he'd self-announced he'd be there on his website. We have tickets to a forthcoming ALFOS night in Belfast this June and probably would have gone to Sunflowerfest in Co Down this coming July, where he'd again self-announced for on Rotter's Golf Club. Not a great man for the rules! A terrible loss. RIP Andy x

priest17
Must admit, didn't really know of him before his passing, but it's obviously always sad to hear someone's gone that people you love respect. Eye opening show on 6music though, seemed like a thoroughly great bloke.

The only other tune that captures the mood IMHO of all of that madness / joy is Paul Oakenfold's remix of Wrote For Luck. Loaded and WFL give me a neck Mohican from start to end. I wanna be adored possibly in same esteem. My Manchester roots and LSD Dabbling 85-90 may have skewed things.

CaledonianGonzo
Someone's dug deep to bring this up: Listen to Andrew Weatherall - Live at the Heavenly Sunday Social - 4th Sept 1994 by matflint on #SoundCloud
Homer
This is a v good tune. Weatherall collaboration with Friendly fires from about five years ago. Fish Bulb
Listening to all of this is making me hope for a Weatherall tribute set at Glasto similar to the Prince one Rob Da Bank did in 2017
