I am slightly worried that they won’t want to seem like they’re undermining the severity of the Coronavirus statement by dropping the line-up straight afterwards. Although my last post was about seeing how they’d likely to do it to provide some good news in a frightening day... basically I’m clueless.

Cheers all.

As blasphemous as this sounds, the lineup  seems trivial to me at the moment. It’ll be almost a ‘look what you could have won’.

On the other hand, what else am I gonna do with my time if not procrastinating on this here place.

Fella I talked to last week that works in the booking industry reckoned it was tomorrow - between that and the government announcement tonight I'm not getting my hopes up. Would be very happy to be wrong though!

I'm not saying the name but I'm close friends with a lady who organises workers for one of the charities. She has been instructed to put in the motion of cancelling all part time workers from tomorrow.

Thats fair enough, why would you not believe your friend! Ive just spoken to a mate who organises an area of the festival (albeit a very small and not very exciting area!), and she has received no such instructions. Could be that she's lower down the list than your friend so just hasn't been contacted yet.

Hmmm, just seen in the countdown thread that It's 104 days to go... Could just be me but I like round numbers and 100 isn't that far away...

That being said, I'm sure the format/sizing/layout has been slightly updated on the home page within the last 2 hours, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me...

*meaning all content is the same, but the formatting looks slightly different to this morning. (Been refreshing it every now and then all day)

You're correct. A comparison with a version from last month shows that they've made the news feed fonts much bigger, probably today as there haven't been any shots taken by the Internet Archive since then.

    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
    • Dug into Milkweed some more and this was a brilliant suggestion. Thank you 🙂   This will come as no surprise, but I have been told that there are some band substitutions to come.
    • Yeah, I think it's important to differentiate between a stage that's just a platform for the artist to walk on (which can be assembled fairly quickly and without too much difficulty), and the custom staging that you get in big productions where there's a whole world underneath.   Using the Eras tour as an example the stage extending out into the stadium field has all sorts - lifts that go up or down - down most importantly as this allows performers to enter or to leave the stage as needed. There's passageways to get from one part of the stage to another. There's what are effectively dressing rooms set aside for costume changes. There's spare instruments (and techs to look after them) so if something goes wrong above they can be swapped out in the space of seconds. There's even a track and dolly system running the full length of the stage so that Taylor can be moved from one end to the other faster than she'd be able to walk.   I don't know the specifics of the Madonna tour to the same degree but my understanding is that a lot of the same techniques are used.
