Woffy
Shirley immediately phoned me after sending this because she thought her text did Stormzy a disservice because she saw him on TV on GCSE results day, at his old school, with the kids as they opened their results. Paraphrasing Mum now - apparently he was ‘really lovely’ with them, especially the ones that didn’t do well - telling them it’s not the end of the world nor is school the only path, etc. She also knew he had excellent GCSE results and A-Levels. Whilst all this fucking astounding I’ve got to admit I’m really, really hoping to Christ she hasn’t ‘done a Lukaku’ here. I’d be mortified. She then spent 20 minutes telling me all the stuff she told me yesterday (about the Remembrance do at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton). She also asked what I wanted for Christmas!!! 1

Miesh
I may have posted this before but it seems appropriate to say that my best mate's mum loved Stormzy last year. Her first Glastonbury. In her 60's, recovering from a broken hip, waving her walking stick as people near us formed a protective circle around us. One of my favourite Glastonbury moments. I don't think he's big enough yet to headline though. Sub headliner probably.

I don’t know why she bothers asking. I ask for book(s) every Christmas and birthday. I did once ask my - sadly now passed - then 92 year old Gran for a copy of Never Mind the Bollocks... on the condition she went into HMV and asked for it. She gave zero fucks and duly did so.
