Much belatedly arriving to the party, the news Macca will be stateside makes me regret even more not being able to source a ticket in December at short notice. BST must be a long shot now too.

Same, feel like I'm destined never to see him

Stormzy - Cure - AM has to be the most bloke-y lineup of anything ever to exist ever

I give you Reading 2009 - Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead (with Kaiser Chiefs, Prodigy and Bloc Party supporting)

re: Tame Impala, I've seen them 3 times live now and I've never not been bored to tears, despite being told many many times that they're amazing.

They have been known to be economical with the truth before. *keeps fingers crossed for Madge*

for Emily, just once that might be said that I know of.

And Emily assures me that when she ruled out Stevie Wonder he wasn't in the frame to play.

However ... the wife was saying to me the other day that Emily didn't actually rule Madge out, but instead used more vague words. I haven't checked that tho.

Where did the £5m fee rumour come from again?

Radiohead are the anti-blokey band if anything, surely?

Unless of course this was about the band literally containing males but the gender representation thing has been done to death.

I definitely did not read that as "Vogue words" and definitely did not take that as an incredibly subtle clue to get excited about

Oh yeah, I'm not suggesting Radiohead are blokey in any way, in comparison to the original post of Stormzy - Strokes - Cure I suppose Radiohead and The Cure can cancel each other out in the anti-blokey band category.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. But fool me thrice?

Haha - twice at festivals where I've tagged along with friends who are massive fans, and then another time they supported the Arctic Monkeys at Finsbury Park, have never knowingly purchased tickets to see them.

I agree - it was quite good to have on in the background at Bestival is the best I can offer

(Re: Tame Impala)

It took a while for them to click with me. With AM at Fins park was weak. Since then they've developed serious meat live. Last couple of times the light show has been spectacular, and is a real key part of their set (See: Mad cool).

from the same source that macca came from. :P

(a big mover who'd definitely know these type of things)

Surely that puts the kibosh on things? I mean taking a paycut to play the festival is one thing, and I know a lot of artists do as a one off, but this would be a cut of 80-90%. Would she agree to that?

    • Boards of Canada never perform live, I doubt they'll start now. Also Strokes have a show in Barcelona next tour so also less likely.   And adding Nine Inch Noize to the mix And we should definitely get Iggy Pop back before his body completlt dismantles
    • Starmer wagging his finger with a stern warning again. The media are briefed they'll  ban social media for under 16s then he stands up and makes an empty threat on nude images. Why does he keep doing this?
    • My top 5:   1. Little Simz (her appearance with Gorillaz was also one of the highlights of their show. The absolute winner of the weekend) 2. Cure 3. Rilo Kiley 4. Gorillaz. A bit disappointing set for me, compared to last time. Felt like a bad setlist, whenever things started to heat up, they did some new calmer song 5. Florance Road. The good thing thay came out of the rain is being able to see them
    • So since Andy Copping has stepped down and this new booker has taken over, we’ve had Green Day (who Andy never managed to book) and now potentially Blink 182 (another Andy never got done) is this just coincidence or do you think Andy never actually pushed hard for these bands?
