Jesus and imagine dragons. Not even sure I know an imagine dragons song. I'm sure I do but couldn't name it. What a let down for a 50th.

ooo I really like Imagine Dragons - great memories for 4 years ago, saturday mid afternoon Other stage - but then again I'm a Killers fan so what do I know about music ;-)

I was really slagging them off per se, I was more juxtaposing the difference in the line up 50 years ago to today. Even with bands who could still play today it would still be a better show.

I saw the killers at Latitude last year. As someone says earlier it was pretty underwhelming, Very much Brandon Flowers doing his Las Vegas show act with a session band. Liam joined them on stage and he did his best but it was pretty cringeworthy.  I am not looking forward to this at all.........

I';ve seen the Killers probably 15 times and am a fan, and seriously Latitude was poor, the crowd was poor, Brandon was going through the motions, there was no atmosphere. Liam was slaughtered and its wasn;t good at all. The worst by far I have ever seen them. Brandon running off while the band is still playing at the end seriously p1sses me off, he used to go with his band at the end, say thank oyu to the crowd and wave and he seems to have turned into a diva who legs it off stage and lets his band finish off - just my interpretation

But I do love a band that comes forward at the end of the show, takes a bow all together and enjoys the moment

I saw them at Latitude last year too, and I thought they were brilliant... but I was baby free overnight for the first time since he was born, and therefore I was so smashed it could have been a Killers tribute band up there and I wouldn’t have noticed.

Moral of the story: anything is good if you’re drunk enough.

My first time at Latitude, was volunteering with Oxfam, and regarding the crowd I have to say crowd/atmosphere on the main stages was flat at best every time I was there or walked past. The whole thing is a bit ‘ersatz’, when compared to other festivals I have been to - inc G, Beautiful days, Kendall Calling, Bearded. It seemed to me that the Killers and Latitude deserved each other that night. I think I might be a bit unfair here but it is my abiding memory. Ho hum - will give it another go this year (Oxfam again)  to see if I am right. Everybody deserves a second chance ? ?

I think now I’m at peace with it being the killers and the bore (cure) I’m actually not too fussed about the next headliner announcement. I’m more excited for the poster drop with the undercard and some on the wow I wasn’t expecting them acts!!

That's more or less my position as well. I'm still holding out hope for a big pop act on at least one night, but far more interested in the undercard now.

As I just mentioned in another thread, The Killers are playing a festival in Canada the week after Glasto. Their only May/June dates are in the US so are they really going to fly over here, play Glasto then bugger off again?

I’d say the opposite.  When the rumour came out that it was The Killers they weren’t active in the slightest, now they have shows around the time of Glastonbury (whether they’re overseas or not)

Under normal circumstances I think it would make it less likely but given the whole secret set situation in 2017 I think they're probably exactly the kind of act who would be up for making that arrangement with Glastonbury if it meant playing the big one.

Perhaps, but just looking at their site they’ve got a few US dates in May. Then a festival in Milwaukee on July 5th and ones in Ottawa and Kentucky the week after.

I suppose it’s possible they could come over for a European jaunt in June but feels like they’re cutting things fine.

Either way I’m just throwing it out there as a potential area of doubt.

I hope you're right... but I'd say if they're headling this year the arrangements were made long ago after the secret set went down and none of the other dates would have been set so I'd say it's more likely they'd be coming over just for glasto

It was always suggested that they’d be coming over especially. Wasn’t a case of ‘let’s see if they announce any European dates’ like it would be for most artists cos we don’t expect it necessary of The Killers.

Does anyone have any ideas on any surprises that could be possible down the order?. The rumours for the headliners are pretty run out and most seem to think Killers and the Cure are on or something else obvious that’s been mentioned. I’m feeling like this year could be the most predictable and boring yet!, although stormzy was a shock but not a good one imo. The other stage I’d imagine will have a top band on the Friday. Looking at the bands touring around this year nothing seems exciting that will play

The Mumfords are on standby.

    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
    • Not my favourite year either, despite liking the lineup more than previous years. Not sure what it was, I guess Thursday really put the brakes on things. But yeah I'll be back next year hopefully. And maybe Massive Attack will return...
