Ed/Foos are both boring you aren't wrong. There haven't be too many amazing headliners in recent years I don't think. There have been good ones but nothing like Muse 2004

Yeah, when I first started looking at rumours I was getting a bit agitated that nothing was for me, then had a look at old line ups and I think since 2014 there would be 2 headliners I'd have got out of my way to see (Arcade Fire and Kanye West), I guess there are multiple stages for a reason

They have subbed. So natural progression is heading the other stage or the pyramid. I love them personally so im more than happy they headline the other

Idk if I see them as Pyramid headliners yet personally, and I'm a huge fan! Would love them to pop up, although I'll undoubtedly see them on tour anyway so maybe it doesn't matter

It's because they've done nothing of note for over a decade, and really they've been riding one album for 18 years now.

That said, The Stone Roses have managed similar.

Opinions again though

I absolutely love their 2nd and 3rd records. Angles is pretty good as well, not so much the last one

Certainly don't ride on that one album for me

Thing is though their set lists are usually 90% of that album, even the band know their riding it.

The 2nd coming is just as good as their first imo. But both their albums imo have eclipsed anything the strokes have done.

There's no reason to believe Jennifer, and even if she is right they may have moved on from whoever she meant.  I just think its interesting that she said she didn't think we'd guess.  What name does she think has NOT been suggested???  Even Slayer on the Park could have been true.

Personally I think it's between Gaga or The Strokes.

If that's right, I hope it's Gaga as I know I have no interest in seeing her. I might be tempted to see The Strokes in the hope they play those two songs they have but even fans of theirs say they are dull live so I know I'd regret it.

Catching up here but is there anything to rule out The Killers? Secret set went down a storm and they're about next year.

I'm resigned to it being someone quite uninteresting at this point. The chances are they've got an act that we already know is touring next year, and the majority of those are quite "meh" options. Best case scenario is Gaga but I'll be stunned if they pull something like that off.

Remember Emily saying they are future headliners

Fair enough, maybe in that case I should lump on them to headline. I spoke with Melvin Benn at Reading 2013 and spoke about Foals, he said he loves them and that maybe they could headline 2016 and for whatever reason I didn't put money on it

Radiohead played 90% of OK Computer in 2017 tho so

Slightly different considering it was the 20th anniversary of its release (the re-issue actually came out the day of the show IIRC).

The Strokes have been farting out Is This It plus the singles from the other albums for years now.

Yeh its complete bollox that they ride on one album. 1st and 2nd are incredible, 3rd is decent, can give or take 4, and i love 5!

Unlikely I know, but just throwing the possibility out there. Wonder if they've been in contact with their mate Damon and got a one off Blur show lined up. Don't believe it myself but since the conversation is flowing...

    • Lovely Brexit doc on bbc2 for anyone who wants to relive those golden years.
    • I think some folks are underestimating how many millennials, now into heavier music, were genuinely also into things like techno and happy hardcore in the 90s and early 00s. Scooter may be about is commercialized as it gets when it comes to happy hardcore and techno, but for many, they won't be just a 'silly act' they will be a genuine nostalgia act.
    • Can anyone share please as can’t access the app
    • Someone said something along the lines of "the lows were really low but they highs were really high" and I think that sentence sums up my ps experience this year. Thursday was a downer (even though I got to see men I trust, geese, oklou and fcukers), but the weather, the missed shows and the uncertainty (those comms...) made it a bad day. Friday and Saturday on the other hand where rly good, a bunch of amazing shows each day (The Cure one was quite something), that surprise on Saturday...   Will be back next year, hope they get another impressive lineup as this year (quality and quantity wise) and that tickets and  primarily hotels don't get much more expensive.
    • Rosalia Radiohead NIN MGMT Bjork David Byrne   Also Vince Staples' new album is cool. I could see him returning.
