Not feeling uber confident about tomorrow,we got pipped at the post last year, got all our details in and then sold out,one of our six this year didn't check his reg is valid so he's out, another two are away and not online,I've just had to explain to another about the refresh button,no wonder he has never got through as in all the years he's tried he has been waiting for the page to refresh itself... Agh! and the only other one supposedly trying is notoriously bad at getting up,tried to contact him last year before the battle but nothing,he later got made contact in the afternoon and said he tried for an hour and a half....Hmmm and I 've got a stinking cold so probably not helping....feeling worried

I would be telling your freeloading friend that if you don't have evidence of him being awake and sat at the computer showing the time, then you won't try for him!! Shocking behaviour. I really feel for you Thearg! If I didn't have 11 groups to try for I'd be on board mate. Good luck

Not feeling overly confident about tomorrow but I'm now reaching the pre-sale zen stage which lasts until about an hour before kick-off, at which point I start freaking out again.

I have an entire day to get through before tickets start sellling at 7pm my time. As usual, I'll have a Thatchers in the fridge ready to celebrate or drown my sorrows with.

I spent from 4am Thursday til tickets went on sale absolutely bricking it. I'm pleased they're at 9am and not waiting the whole day again. I think you should go an buy more thatchers!!

Ha ha yes,I have told him I'm not trying for him if he doesn't answer the phone but if I get through of course I'll get him a ticket as he's a good friend in other ways but you have to make the threat lol

11 groups,wow that's got to be a record

Good luck to you too!

Still can't believe more people don't go for the coach option. Passing up a chance for Glasto tickets seems quite odd to me.

Totally agree with this! In previous years I would only ever go for general sale so I could drive and take as much stuff as I wanted. But after missing out main sale and getting a ticket in the resale in 2015 and then missing out on the main sale last year and not able to try in the resale as was not able to get cover for work that close meant I missed the while festival, I couldn't give up an extra shot at a ticket as I was desperate to not miss 2017! I don't need to take all the extra stuff I won't use in the end and I can go crazier on the Sunday now as I don't have to worry about driving the next day!

I agree but let's not persuade too many to change their ways ;)

I think basically people have to have personally experienced that feeling of missing out in the main sale having vetoed the coach sale to really appreciate how much you kick yourself. I'd never not do coaches having had this experience ahead of 2014 and having to wait for the resale...

First time I was ever successful in the main sale was last year, and I always get a NE coach, but I never try for coach packages. Besides it being more inconvenient and expensive for me to get a See coach, it also go against why the coach packages exist and are sold early. The scheme is there to reduce congestion getting to the festival site and the environmental impact of the travel, neither of which applies to me as I get the coach either way. Better for somebody who would otherwise have driven to get a coach ticket from somewhere local to them, and maybe be converted to be a bus w*nker in future years.

Bad signs here: I got blown out by a girl on Friday who said she had to see her mate who was "down". Then on Facebook when Ive woke up, she was at a party....

My washing machine has packed in.

My football team are getting beat.

Fuck me, my weekend is going well.

I better get a ticket

Mate getting blown out is good for the soul. If she had to lie rather than tell you straight, then you have not missed out on anything anyway.

You might meet a hot little lady in the launderette, look at it as an opportunity.

Your football team is shit, I can't help you there.

Tomorrow is a new day, as long as you are still breathing, you have the opportunity to make it better than the previous day.

We will get tickets.

I don't want it to be ticket day. I'm too worried. Have been the one to get our groups sorted last few years but no joy on Thurs. I think I have lucked out. Hopefully one of the others can step up and make a play in the morning.

Nice bit of motivation...

Ive had a fiver on 6 teams for £105.... 4 are currently winning. We all know what happens here don't we?!

Half times....

Bradford 1 up
Doncaster 2 up
Luton 1 up
Colchester 0-0
Aldershot 0-0
Forest Green 1 up

This would help lighten my mood

Hi gang, already had my first nervous poo (well, it was that or the chilli I reheated last night). Lovely, i know...

Just a quick question. In previous years everyone trying for my group's tickets have been in the group - therefore whoever has been lucky has put themselves as lead booker and paid with their card. This year, however, a couple of wonderful friends and family that can't go are trying for our group too... does it matter who they put in as the Lead Booker? And does it matter if they pay with their cards... which won't match the name or address of anyone in the party?

Sure this has been asked before but couldn't find anythng definitive on the Glasto website or through google search etc.

Cheers guys, and best of luck!!

Haha that did cross my mind, don't want too many extra people going for the coaches! ;)

Yeah exactly! Whilst you do get more freedom with arrival and leaving times and amount of stuff you can take with a general ticket, to me I'd rather have a ticket full stop and am now happy to have an extra shot at one! And l now I can party harder on a Sunday with no worries of driving!

Now I've just got to plan getting to the O2 for 5am on the Wednesday.

Doesn't matter at all - all that happens is that the lead booker's details are pre-filled on the payment page, but you can edit them to whatever you want (ie. your own card details) to pay for them, and everyone gets sent their tickets to their own address.

Didn't want to add to the stress, but very concerned about tomorrow too tbh - I'm out of the country at the moment on a very dodgy internet connection and didn't get a sniff in the coach sale! And trying for three groups tomorrow!

Anyway, all the very bestest of luck to all here for their golden passes in the morning! :-D

I am so nervous this year for some reason. Normally I feel okay but I've just got a horrible feeling about tomorrow.

Laptop and iPad are both charging and already on the holding page. Laptop started doing updates when I switched it on, so thank god I didn't wait until tomorrow morning to do that!!

Last year it was me that got through and I used my bank card which is in my married name. My registration is in my maiden name (as I haven't changed my ID yet) and I'm sure I remember it giving me the option to change the details of the payment card owner... it automatically pulls out the lead booker's details but you can change them I'm pretty sure.

To be honest I'd get a coach anyway these days so the only downside is the extra expense for See coaches and the bloody O2 car park location.... I never user to drive on to the site anyway - my friend used to drive us to her mum's and then we'd get a lift to the show ground for the shuttle bus. And I once did the train. I hate the idea of those car parks but I understand people want to bring more booze etc.

Good luck tomorrow all! The anxiety in this thread is palpable. I'll be up and trying for a mate.

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
