Ha. Hasn't Hawley played with the Arctics on some tracks?

Only one I know of, incidently one of my favourite songs of theirs. It was between their 4th and 5th album and they released that, Evil Twin and R U Mine kinda close together which are easily their coolest three songs for me.

That Hawley verse with just the bass is fu**ing cool as out I've not watched that back in ages, I'm gonna have to go see him at the park now aren't I...

I saw them at reading that year too and they were brilliant, however that album was very good. The new album is average at best, turner is lyrically a genius but is becoming more and more unbearable to watch. Miles kane is a weapon, fucked off little flames and rascals (who were class i thought), his solo album was poor bar two songs and has ruined this LSP album as most of the songs have a far more Kane feel to them.

My plan is to skip them  and maybe catch the bowie tribute on at the same time, then get back for Tame.

What Bowie tribute?

Dance bowie dance in the stonebridge bar.

I'm guessing it's more a dJ playing his songs than a tribute but I dunno.

You think? I'd have guessed it was just that, but I could be wrong.

I do fancy it though even if it is just a DJ playing someone records. I fucking love Bowie and there'll be nothing like it again, I anticipate the vibe will be strong in that tent.

Hot Chip are doing a set of Bowie stuff in Block 9 i think it'll be very good.

It'll be like last years thing, where Jarvis Cocker and some of those ballet dudes that opened the Pyramid played Bowie vinyls to a half full Stonebridge bar, only with more people.

Pretty sure he's not doing any Bowie tribute.

Think he pulled out last minute, so Stonebridge bar cancelled a gig in France to step up.

Im half alseep, still dying from too many during the game Saturday.

Yeah the one on during LSP is the Bowie tribute by Danny howells, the Hot chip prince is a different time

Loved every single second of it (surprise surprise :D).

They're having fun, great chemistry between the two. I burst out laughing when Turner came out with the jacket and that t-shirt.

Roll on Castlefield Bowl and Ally Pally :)

Yes your avatar somewhat gives it away! I think you could look at it two ways, cringe, or he just doesn't give a fuck what he wears, loved it either way.

Thought it was great but I was absolutely hammered by the time they came on. The happy vibe during Madness just lent itself to continued drinking, until I realised I'd drank 4 bottles of wine in no time at all.

My only gripe was the lack of Calm Like You; my favourite Shadow Puppets song and it was a regular fixture in their setlists leading up to this one.

Sweet Dreams, TN seemed an odd choice to open with but as probably my favourite song from the new album it got me right in the mood.

Can't really remember what Turner and Kane were like on stage as I was too busy screaming along in everyone's face to watch.

Big fan of pretty much everything Alex Turner has done but he really doesn't help himself.

Not sure if he thinks he's Elvis or John Lennon - but I suspect he knows he's a knob and he's playing up to it

A lot of the new stuff sounds heavily influenced by Elvis to me, Sweet dreams especially.

I can see where the cringe side is coming from and that's a valid point. I don't think he's bothered and there's humour to it too.

We were apologising to those around us as we were properly into it, big AM/TLSP fans but nobody seemed to mind thankfully.

Sweet Dreams, TN is his best vocal performance since The Afternoons Hat, fucking incredible stuff.

I watched it on Iplayer and its all a bit of a piss take of rock and roll cliches, the bit with turner on his knees during the guitar solo in bad habits, trying to stop Kane's solo from melting his face was gold.

The press have portrayed them in a poor light during this album run, insinuating that they've both lost the plot, turners said that they're both going their separate ways after this years festival season so I think they're just having a laugh

Al does have a habit of looking a bit coked up and bored but I thought he was fantastic at their glastonbury set. The act he does, when he commits to it, is so obviously playful and silly that I don't know how you can find it cringeworthy.

They were excellent and genuinely looked to be having fun. I've got no problem with Turner's on stage act, rather a frontman had a bit of personality.

Exactly - you can in fact see the difference between a fantastic frontman and a mediocre one on stage when they're playing, in the difference between Alex and Miles. :P
