23 here in Nottingham and it's borderline too hot for festivaling. I'd take this weather all day long but a degree or two more and it'd be too much!

I don't think most people can tell the difference between a few degrees- I'm sure people can only distinguish between blocks of 5 or 10 degrees C, so essentially there are really only 6 percievable temperatures:

anything below 0 = freezing

0 to 10 = cold

10 to 15 = okay

15 to 20 = warm

20 to 30 = hot

30+ = roasting

I haven't tested out my theory on living test subjects yet, but I shall aim to do so in the days ahead.

Not true. You seriously don't think you can tell the difference between 14 and 17 degrees?

Manchester was sweltering today, 25 degrees but so, so humid. I don't mind the heat but if it's humid at a festival, it's not ideal.

Seriously hope the weather hasn't peaked already and we get a bit of this in a couple of weeks.

We want it to rain now. Lots.

I'd like more than the whole of June's average rainfall (and some) to arrive well before the 22nd. Then, statistically, there's likely to be less thereafter (until July).

This is where I am. Not too pleased with the perfect dry weather just now.

I reckon it's going to rain lots just before or during the festival.

That's not how statistics work.

Hardly seen the sun all week although it has remained dry. Temperatures been around 15-17. Sun yesterday afternoon enough to have a few hours on the beach drinking wine. Location in the Channel Islands.

Oh. I thought Glastonbury had an average daily rainfall for June. An average daily sunshine for June. An average daily temperature for June. I thought we had seasons in this country.

Is it like flipping a coin? Does that mean there's an equal chance of snow during that week? Coz I don't believe you.

Of course there is an average for June but you don't use it up by having rain at the start of June.

To use the coin-tossing what your saying is you hope you get lots of heads at the start of the month so your due some tails at the end, in other words nonsense.

Sorry if that comes across too aggressive, I mean no agro just trying to say that rain at the start of the month doesn't mean sun at the end.

Glasgow's ridiculously sunny again today, I'm in danger of losing my trademark pastey white complexion.

I came up to Glasgow for the weekend. When I left London it was wet and about 13 degrees, and when I landed in Glasgow it was warm and sunny. Always been the other way round.

I'm watching Countryfile (caveat: and I'm a little mashed).  I didn't like what the guy said about the jet stream bringing unsettled weather over the next 2 weeks.

Saw the same!! Wasn't pleased, but daughter reminded me that they know nothing :-)

The maths don't lie! Quite right you should stand up.

Like you said; there's a 50% chance of heads or tails tossing a coin. Statistically over 30 flips you could expect 15 heads and 15 tails. But if I hit 15 heads in a row, what is the probability that the the next one is tails? Still 50%.

Let's suppose on any day that the chance of rain or no rain is 50% (probably not bad for an English summer!). If it rains in the first 15 days of June what is this probability that the next day has rain? None? Has all the rain gone now? No, it's 50%, and 50% the next day and the next...
