The weather gods have dictated a torrential Glastonbury is essential to bring balance back to the Festival so only the most passionate and diehard fans will apply for and get tickets in 2017 cf 2007/8

Was speaking to security at red gate yesterday, they are currently having to spray (very smelly) water to keep the dust down

Yeah. Whilst mud ain't great. Dust could prove potentially dangerous for working staff standing around on the tracks. Don't want any athsmatic security struggling at all.

Whilst I'm not camping at the festival this year, a decent spot of weather would be brilliant. A small bit of rain on the Sunday before the festival and a little on the Thursday during would be ace. Sunny 21-24 degrees the rest of the time.

just to settle things down

I like the look of that :). Early days though, I know!

When do we lube up for an Azores fingering?

We don't this year, as weather patterns are a little unusual.

I'm still confident that we're only going to get about 3 or 4 days rain out of the next 15, with generally overcast mornings, baking hot afternoons and mild evenings being the pattern for the majority of the month.  In other words, the perfect festival weather.

Met Office forecast brightening up!

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/long-range-forecast/

UK Outlook for Monday 20 Jun 2016 to Monday 4 Jul 2016:

Into late June and early July, the most unsettled weather should increasingly become confined to northwestern areas. Generally drier, warmer and sunnier conditions should develop further south and east, although still with a risk of some rain or showers at times. Temperatures generally near normal at first, so mild to warm, but perhaps cool in most unsettled spells. Warmer conditions may then develop later in the period, perhaps becoming very warm at times in the south.

Glasgow's ridiculously sunny again today, I'm in danger of losing my trademark pastey white complexion.

My winter whiteness has been blown wel out the water the last few days, it's been glorious up here

The downside is that everyone's that perennially drunk way that only comes with all day beer garden drinking.

    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
