The King Blues are playing, had a chat with Itch last night before their Norwich gig. They are playing the Leftfield stage, absolutely killed it last night so good to have them back.

Yessss. Best news so far. The new EP on Spotify is worth a listen.

Did they stress when or where? Would be a terrible shame for them to take up a big slotĀ

No, they were just talking about Glastonbury being their highlight of last year and said that they would be back this year. Their popularity baffles me to no end.

As much as I am not a huge fan of their distinctly average album, they are pretty solid live and I think would probably play where Clean Bandit/Jungle played last year?

Guess this doesn't count as self confirmed but it doesn't really deserve its own thread.

A friend of mine listens to the podcast That's Not Metal. They have said BMTH, Baroness and Babymetal are playing.

Hardly news about BMTH but the other two are news to me.

Baroness would be awesome. Always thought there was a chance they may do it so pretty cool if they've been booked. Where the hell would Babymetal play?! Would surely need a slot on one of the big stages. Somewhere on Other?Ā

Ah ok, I didn't listen myself so I can't pretend to rely on the source. If Babymetal do play I'll assume they get some opening novelty slot on the Other stage or something. If they don't play I'll consider it a bonus.

A friend also put me onto that podcast.

I thought it might have a ring of truth initially as it is possible he hasĀ insider info on Babymetal and Baroness as he's a metal journo I believe.Ā

When he mentioned Adele and All Saints as well though, I just assumed he'd seen the fake poster.

So it's either a case of the press in the metal scene not caring enough about Glasto to fact check any old poster they find online, or they really do know something we don't.

you're under a misapprehension in thinking that what they call journalists today do more than read stuff from twitter.

Here at efestivals basements we've got a number of google alerts set-up on certain words, and we'll often get a string of alerts around a particular story, where you see that story evolve from one thing into something quite different as each writer reports from the previous article and adds in an extra error of their own.

I'd like to think that we're error free, but I know that's not true ... tho I do think it's true to claim that we do a little better than most.

Not really a self confirmed but some very welcome news.

A good friend of ours spent the afternoon with us today, she's just starting a local mini tour. She is very good friends with Jolly Jock from Biggles. She said that although he is still very poorly, he is still gigging and is hoping to bring Biggles to Glastonbury again this year.Ā

Excellent news.Ā  Whether or not they can make it this year, I hope Jock gets better and stays jolly

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth. Ā  Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it. Ā  Before: Ā  Ā  After: Ā
