Direct from Bella Union!

Awesome. Not showing as a pre-order on the website so maybe it's been brought forward!

Ordered it so hopefully I'll get it early next week or at least the digital version as I think that's included with the physical copy.

Been listening to the new Steve Mason album non stop since yesterday. By far the best album I've heard so far this year and his most focused and accessible yet. Some may not like it because of just that, but it still contains all his eclecticism and his wonderful ear for uplifting melody. Outstanding stuff.

Been listening to Holy Esque's debut album all weekend and it's fantastic. Vocals are reminiscent of Ellery from WU LYF and got a cool E+TB post-punk thing going on with dashes of post-rock. Endorse it highly.

Here's their new single.

I remember hearing one of their songs a couple of years and thinking it was good, had no idea they now had an album out! I'll give it a listen as that song you posted is really good.

I'm on my second listen now.  I absolutely loved the Beta Band 3 EPs, but I found their "proper" albums never lived up to expectation.  This is absolutely phenomenal stuff though.

They were playing the new Wolfmother album in the shop today when I went in to buy the new Santigold. It sounded camp and silly as shit, but I couldn't help but find it ridiculously fun, I reckon I'm going to buy it... Sorry in advance.

"Dying Surfer Meets His Maker" came out at the end of last year, and they have a gap in their touring schedule, and Glastonbury needs more PyschBluesStonerRock, so bring on All Them Witches.

(show starts about a minute into the video, if you fancy a listen).

New M83. Wasn't totally sold on it at first but as the song went on and on my second listen it's definitely growing on me.

The albums out on 8th April and has Beck and Susanne Sundfor on it which definitely has potential.

Ah they've got to be there, brilliant on first listen

What the hell is it with bands going disco to follow up a critically acclaimed album? Is there someone that's going to all these award ceremonies and fancy parties convincing them it's a good move? Is it Nile Rodgers?

I'm not really digging it but I can allow it as long as the rest of the album isn't like that.

New Kills deserves a mention. They've shaken up their sound on it and it's certainly for the best.

Yeah, I was expecting them to change it up a bit compared to Hurry Up, We're Dreaming given the way he'd talked about it but wasn't expecting this sort of thing. I've just seen the album cover which is different to say the least...

Wow, I've never really listened to M83 but thought I'd give this a try. I really, really like it. Love that piano roll.

I know nothing about M83 but will do some research on them when I have the time and will deffo listen to this album when it's released.

Oh wow this is good. Just went on Spotify to listen to the album and saw they're playing Newcastle in May, so thanks. Been desperately looking for decent gigs here as there's fuck all.

dentalplan must have some good soundproofing if he was listening to the album all weekend and you couldn't hear it in his attic.

    • They're handing out ear plugs at the mordor, so maybe the theory that there's no show during their set due to noise bleed is not that far fetched

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
