shite ain't it. what a terrible band

Really? Or are you joking? I think they're pretty mundane but I couldn't say that they're thoroughly terrible.

Track is certainly pants though. What's happened to yer man's fucking accent? "Saw you droiving moi car / Like a dog running woild" - eh? It makes sense that they would reel off a by-numbers non-album track for a TV show but that twang is inexplicable.

I think the new Last Shadow Puppets record is pretty damn good. Getting piss poor reviews though. Also shout outs to Yeasayer and Joy Formidable for similarly confounding my expectations with good albums. Nice that TJF tried something different and it really paid off. Weezer album bangs too. New music round up complete.

genuinely think they're shite - was baffled when everybody over on the R/L boards were hyping them up non stop on their uprising and i'm baffled now that they're ridiculously big

is TLSP really getting bad reviews? surprised by that as i'm thoroughly enjoying it! need to give the others a listen, although not hearing great things about TJF album

Oh is The Joy Formidable album good then? I listened to the first 3 or 4 songs but thought they were quite poor.

I think the Last Shadow Puppets album is decent without ever standing out as anything more than that, which is pretty much what I was expecting. The singles grew on me a fair bit though so hoping the album does the same.

I'm SUPER confident you were on the same hype train but I'm gonna let it ride cos I don't wanna keep doing this to you. :P Their size isn't baffling though - they were incredibly well marketed and you can never underestimate how much people can take of the same thing over and over.

Well, I read a couple of poor ones but there are probably some sycophantic ones cancelling them out. Either way it's not getting rave reviews either, but yeah I think it's very good. Turner's probably at his best nowadays when he's doing the chamber pop kinda stuff.

Haven't heard much bad about Hitch (not the movie) other than it's over-long (true) and doesn't know where it's going at parts (guess that's true as well) but I think they bring new things to the table, when they could've brought up the usual wall of sound and hid behind it.

Let him off, it's pretty consistent ;)

as for the album... it's okay. i just really understand all the hype surrounding this band. they sound like so many other bands who have come and gone. every time i think 'ah this is pretty good' i then seconds later think '...but it was also pretty good the last time i heard it'

not a bad album at all. i just find it weird that they're being championed as the 'next big thing' (although i understand that a lot of it has to do with their live reputation, which i unfortunately haven't seen. will be sure to check them out next time i get the chance, when they'll undoubtedly be ridiculously high up a festival lineup)

Father Stretch My Hands Pt 1 is pretty decent, I actually think the album starts out pretty strongly, but that start gets tarnished when the rest of the record plumbs new depths of unfocused, uninspired dicking around. I'm not surprised he says it's only going onto to Tidal, even Kanye knows this is not a finished piece of work by any stretch of the imagination. The tracks really aren't bad for the most part, they just get seriously let down by the vapid lyrics. Famous is where it starts to go wrong, and it never really pulls it back despite some nice flourishes here and there. No More Parties in LA works best when you listen to it on its own, because by the time I get to it, I've had enough of hearing Kanye's voice.

Ah there's so many good tracks though. FML, Real Friends, Wolves, 30 hours(the first half), Waves, Highlights, Famous... basically everything but low lights and silver surfer is at least decent.

Also, I have, recently, developed a really intense dislike of TLSP. Musically, they're dreadful and they just seem like such cockends. Can't figure it out, cos I don't mind AM at all.

It's all gone downhill since Miles became a skinhead and started wearing white patent leather slip on loafers.

Looking forward to getting stuck into the Explosions in the Sky album today. They're a new find for me, been enjoying them a lot this week.

I hadn't listened to them for ages before the lineup announcement. Loving getting back into them, and have just seen the new album is out today, perfect. Thanks Eavii!

No love for the new Primal Scream album? Its absolutely fantastic imo. Far batter than the rockier crap they have been dishing up recently.

Just listening to the (fantastic soumding) new Bombino album and looking forward to watching him at the G.

Then realised that he wasn't actually on the poster.

But Rokia Traore is playing, and her new album is also sounding [repeated fire emoji]

Has anyone heard the new Weezer album? I'm off to see them tonight. Still not heard it, but will be giving it a first listen this afternoon.

Yea its not too bad. Obviously not back to Blue or Pinkerton standards but better than EWBAITE imo. The five singles are probably the best 5 songs on there but thats to be expected, the other 5 are kind of filler songs.

Im seeing them on tuesday, let me know how it is! Hoping for a classics-heavy setlist

Definitely not as good as EWBAITE imo but miles ahead of stuff like Raditude that's for sure. Doubt I'll be revisiting it too much but it's pretty good for latter day Weezer

    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
