Anyone given Polly Jean's latest a spin? Would welcome a good starting point as her albums tend to be hard work before becoming thoroughly enjoyable.

Totally agree with this, but would be super-fun. No idea where/when 65Days would fit in the line up though! As long as it's loud, I don't care.

That Mogwai album is spectacular. Gore sounds like deftones do. Nothing new. Tim Hecker as above.. ^^

new James Blake album is apparently 18 songs long and one of the songs is 24 minutes long. that should be interesting

also, new Blood Orange album Freetown Sound announced, although no release date yet. hoping he appears at the festival. seems pretty patchy live from the few live videos i've seen but his last album was fantastic, and he's playing BST the following week so is around. would be a great midday WH act

I'm really interested to see where James Blake new record takes him, I think he's fantastic, and I really liked Overgrown, the new single Modern Love sounds great to me too

I've given it one listen, but rather enjoyed it.

Off to see Explosions In The Sky tomorrow night in Bristol. Anyone going to this or any other dates in the tour?

Michael Kiwanuka's belated second album gets a rare 5/5 in the new Mojo. Sounds like it's a little more soul, less folk, and largely produced by Danger Mouse. Met him once, lovely bloke, chatted about Neil Young (no really), would be delighted to see him make it.

King Gizzard ("precision freak-beat brilliance") and Car Seat Headrest get 4/5, Yak 3/5 ("trying too hard... some cracking tracks").

Very much looking forward to all of those.

Would have loved to see Explosions in the Sky this week, but didn't realise they were touring.  Off to see Calexico on Monday though.

They've five UK dates in October too. And of course are playing the festival.

I just saw them in Manchester yesterday! I really enjoyed the gig, the light show was great and they put a lot of energy into the performance. The crowd wasn't as energetic though, but it was my first post-rock concert and didn't quite know what to expect.

I hope someone uploads the set list on setlist.fm soon, I was only able to get hold of We Were Promised Jetpack's set list (which I am really happy about).

Somehow managed to let the new Miike Snow album pass me by, on first listen it is very good.

 

US tour finishes 5th June, next gig after that is 1st July in Scandinavia. Get them in the JP Glasto!

new Beyonce album Lemonade out now  i'm sure there'll be somebody else excited about that on here, especially considering it features Kendrick, Jack White, The Weeknd and James Blake

Yeah its pretty great, love the song with Kendrick Lamar. Also I know she's tipped to perform with Coldplay but (considering the amount he's on the album) maybe a spot with James Blake is a possibility too.

I know it's been mentioned on this thread already, but the new Deftones album is pretty great.

They just keep on churning out awesome albums.
