hmm now that Disclosure are on the lineup it does bring us back to the info that Bastille would be subbing them on the Other on Friday...

i know we've thought LCD would be playing there but i wonder if that's not strictly true (although where fuck LCD would go I'm not sure)

Beck is there for a reason. I think Radiohead are that reason.

would work if Beck was free on the Saturday, but he's not, so the 'there as a friend of Radiohead' thing doesn't really work if we believe they're subbing Adele

LCD to headline John Peel. People on here have been speculating for months that they could get a big act to christen the new stage. So there ya go. They'd work much better in the JPT too.

why? They might be hype of the month, but they're not as big as some are saying.

They might be headlining, but I think you're over-stating things.

Remember Rudimental headlined Other somehow and Ronson below had the song of the summer and way more hype then.

i think people are getting carried away with this new John Peel thing - isn't the tent just getting moved? plus LCD are far too big for that - they're headlining pretty much every festival they're playing this summer, so Glastonbury getting them and lumping them in a tent, in arguably a lower slot than they had in 2010, would be madness

They don't fit.

Muse / Foals / ZZ Top / Madness
LCD Soundsystem / Bastille / TDCC

Adele / Disclosure / TLSP / Jess Glynne
New Order / CHVRCHES / Years and Years

Coldplay / Ellie Goulding / Beck / ELO
BMTH / PJ Harvey / The 1975

None of those 4th Pyramid/3rd Other acts are going any lower so no act will be added in positions that high up.

The only way I can see it being remotely possible is if the following happens and TDCC headline NME. But it won't happen. Radiohead aren't playing. Although it does make the Bastille/Disclosure info work (please be fucking right).

I agree.  Just because Other got a new rig (funnily enough the field was the same size) last year, everyone seems to think JP will be the biggest tent in Europe or some such when it moves.

Actually, if I had to bet, I'd say they would replace the tatty old JP tent in its current form, but it won't be significantly bigger if at all.  I also wouldn't be remotely surprised if it was literally the same tent, just moved.

Saturday Other is The 1975 -> Chvrches -> New Order, I think.

Here's an alternative:

SATURDAY

21:45-23:45 SPECIAL GUESTS

19:30-21:00 ADELE (primetime tv spot)

so Adele is the headliner act (most prominent name in the poster) but she is not the final act

This has to be the 372nd time this has been suggested. It won't happen.

Disclosure looks likely surely. Co-headlining Reading, closing 2nd stage/subbing equivalent at T, they won't be lower than that and as said LCD aren't returning on a reuniom and doing the same slot.

With Bastille 3rd down on Other?....I doubt it, they have done the 02, were 3rd down main last year and a new album out.

bastille were third on main at Reading. they were a secret act in williams green last year

also beck are headlining fold festival in london on the sturday, Beck could play earlyish in the day then head over?

    • Ah, that is interesting and ruins my theory a bit!!   I think my point just about holds though, and coming full circle on this discussion, being a sizable band such as Muse and not being able to sell out two O2 dates very quickly or at all doesn’t fill me with confidence that they be able to do a decent job selling a stadium tour…although maybe if Muse do something about their pricing, maybe they can!
    • I’ve said it elsewhere too but Emily Eavis said a 2028 headliner was booked, to me that’s only going to be someone the size of Oasis or Taylor Swift
    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
    • Second go.....    Still f**king fantastic - Well done WIlliam Orbit -  Bugman & Trimm Trabb mega tracks - No Distance Left To Run hauntingly Beautiful
