Do you reckon Carole King was doing those OTT gesticulations for the entire duration?

Almost certainly. Someone had popped a pill in her wine, reckon she was just coming up as Aretha hit the stage.

I should think that's due to some legal restrictions surrounding the use of the ELO name, and they'd be billed as ELO If it wasn't for that. Good job they're not though otherwise they couldn't play the legend's slot!!!

Jeff owns the ELO name outright. He bought out the only remaining shared-owner (Bev Bevan) more than a decade ago.

In the time they both owned the name there were a few other acts who were licenced to use the ELO name in one way or another, so I'm guessing the prefix of "Jeff Lynn's" is to indicate it's the real deal and not something lesser.

Oh right. That's sort of unconventional. Might have to use this one against the solo-artists 'rule' somewhere down the line. :P

Aretha has said she may quit touring in the next year or two but that she also wants to get to "London" - I presume she means most of the British Isles which "London" is for a lot of Americans - after she conquers her fear of flying.

just wow! made my year

Not doubting you or anything, Nal, but do you have a link to where she said that?

Aretha would make my year. Imagine how packed that field would be!

Aretha playing anywhere in the UK this year would be wonderful
