A representative for the band has denied it saying it's 'utterly ridiculous' so maybe not. Interested to see what it is nontheless. Seems weird that they'd be announcing something so soon after their long hiatus announcement

It would seem ridiculous. They've made millions by churning out what's essentially the same album over and over again. Why stop now?

Hm, the rep actually said  "buzz of bad blood over a split" is ridiculous.. not the split itself so I'd say it's likely that Dave is going solo.

Ah didn't see that bit. Maybe so then - them breaking up makes more sense than announcing anything else so soon after the last announcement

Yeah, off the top of my head we had Chris Goss from Master Of Reality (which was super exciting for me), Alain Johannes, Lee Ving from Fear and Rick Springfield (who was surprisingly entertaining).  Also Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear played in the band, which was damn awesome.  So I guess none of the super famous collabs, but the whole gig was great.

They won't split up. I don't particularly like them but they just won't. As long as Dave, Taylor (and maybe Pat) are in the band I would've thought they could get session musicians in to play gigs if any of the other guys throw in the towel. The only reason for splitting would be that Dave wants to go solo which I can't see happening unless they've all had a massive falling out. I would've thought that the announcement may be Wembley and a tour (seeing as they couldn't finish the last one.) ??? What are your thoughts?

Apparently a) Dave wants to go solo (hence his Oscars performance) and b ) he & Taylor might have had a falling out. I suspect he might make a solo record, then another Crooked Vultures, then another solo, and may never get round to going back to the Foos, unless it's for some big anniversary tour.

If they are going on a break, next years possible headliners is really wide open. Not obvious at all who will headline.
