Paid but didn't add car park ticket. Do you think I can get one added to my order? Just tried calling but taking ages to get through and at 10p per min, I might aswell just pay the £7.50 postage/packaging fee lol.

You can still use the link on the email to buy these

Paid mine, £182.50. Fucking hell. It's going to be pushing £300 after the next fallow year.

Whole swathes of people will be priced out. Something will have to be done. Scaling the size of the festival back is the obvious solution.

If they wanted to scale the size of the festival back they'd probably charge more!

Thing is it's still the same price as the other major festivals, you get a ridiculous amount more for your money and it's towards good causes and not bare capitalist profit.

Granted, maybe it was a lot cheaper many years ago but the modern age of H&S means you just can't do things on the cheap anymore.

That said, I'm consistently amazed at how some of the bigger European festivals like Benicassim can draw a hugely impressive lineup on a much smaller capacity and ticket price.

Depends how it's scaled back. If the numbers are fewer then maybe, but not if they didn't stop cramming so much stuff in every year. I enjoyed The Spike last year, but was the Glade area really crying out for 2 or 3 (I lose track) new venues? Was fine for, me I'm in my thirties and approaching my maximum earning capability, but what about 'the kids'?

I think I read somewhere that bands charge festivals in Europe less, than they charge UK festivals. Went to Optimus alive a few years ago and it was only 90 pounds -Green Day, Depeche Mode, Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend and Tame Impala and others played that weekend.

Paid up on the first day, as did the two newbies I'm going with. They are huge Kanye fans but have said to me they're not really bothered about the lineup, they just want to get stuck into the festival as a whole.

Music plays a bit part for me but I know there'll be at least 10-20 bands I'll want to see, and five or so must sees. I would be shocked if not. It is getting expensive though, I think this year may be my last. Smaller festivals like Green Man seem to offer the ethos I though would be at Glastonbury, and are much cheaper.

Exactly, keep the numbers high but scale back the entertainment. Being spoon fed organised fun every second you are at the festival is costly, and completely unnecessary

I think it's important to remember that efests posters make up a minority of Glastonbury attendees, and the other n thousand don't all have the same mindset as those of us on here who say we'd go regardless of the line up (me included).

I think we'll see a fair few more tickets available in the resale this year, especially given the way Kanye has split opinion.

Either way I'll be interested to see if there's a reason the announcement hasn't been made before balance payments are all paid. Surely it can't make much commercial sense to them unless this year's line up is a load of tripe!

Ultimately it'll sell out, whatever happens the resale won't last more than a few minutes so hopefully they are now confident in that fact and want to go back to how it used to be.

Don't be concerned, as long as you have a confirmation email even if the payment fucks up you'll be able to get it sorted. I doubt there's a problem with the payment either, sometimes payments take mysteriously longer than you're used to.

I've had the confimation email. Money has left my account, but not on my statement yet? (My balance has remained the same, 'Available' gone down by cost of the ticket)...Paid on thursday, potential problem?

Same here. No problem at all, can just take up to 3 working days to show - bank holiday weekend kinda screws up what feels 'normal'.

I paid late this year. The lineup is important to me to some degree and I normally like to see one must see before paying. I like using spotify on the people playing and have often ended up seeing some of my favourite acts this way that I'd have totally missed if the lineup was released late on when I might have less free time.

I do like the random wandering around too though and no matter what I know I'll have a great time. The variety at Glastonbury means no matter how bad the "top" acts are there's plenty else to see.

All of my group paid up except me as i can no longer make it this year. :(

I'm gutted to be not going, especially getting a ticket in Oct this year, but some things are more important in the long run. Best of luck to everyone trying in the resale!

Same for me. Put it down to the bank holiday...

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
