Did you take a particular route? I went for Prydz and hit a pretty dense wall of people far back from the main stage. Think I took an obvious directly up from Railway Track type route. I did make it through eventually (and then it was OK) but it wasn't easy. And had to endure a few grumbles along the way.

I think Arcadia is pretty much the worst for crowd crust. If you're canny and discreet, you can pretty easily work your way inside and then it's much less dense. It's a balance of those who want to look at the 'whole' spectacle, with those for whom the sound and dance vibe is more important. I was directly under the Dragonfly for all of HAAi b2b KI/KI and Amelie last year. Nice amount of room to dance, and even to move out a bit for when the wings were going full gas, to get some amazing visuals too. But, the sound right in the middle was STELLAR. Best I've ever heard at Arcadia. Loud (good loud) and crystal clear, the percussion being particularly well presented, which is *really* important to me!

Although I'm very likely not to go there this year, I highly recommend that E/D-ers who have got sets on Arcadia that they like the look of do make the effort not just to go, but to find their way to the centre. It's stunning.

Duly noted. I'm proper excited for the prospect of a Max Cooper set there now!

All i remember is we came through the healing fields. We were looking at the left side of the dragonfly (its left) so I guess we came down by Park Home Ground campsite. Head on was definitely busier than the sides.

There is not one stage in the festival that doesn't suffer this expect maybe pyramid.

Every time, just get past the crust and you'll have bags of space. The worse the crust, the more space at the front!

I wouldn't call it stacked tbh.

Radio DJs you can see anytime you want or people like Four Tet who plays multiple sets every year.

Michael Bibi will probably get a big crowd, but I won't be there!

compared to the other days its stacked. I would take issue with just having b2b's which will just be an hour. Not enough time.

Funnily enough, I'll be in Nevada that weekend. Was hoping they were gonna resurrect Life is Beautiful or the Beautiful Block Party but both seem to have been cancelled. A real shame. LIB was a lot of fun.

Thats what happens when you sell your event to Penske. They just let it die.  If youre still in the country for a week the Crssd lineup is coming soon and thats after Portola and in San diego. More dj centric than Portola. Itll have some crossover but likely just a handful.

Really liking Max Cooper at the moment. Does anyone know which of his 3 sets that are currently announced are most likely to be the sort of ethereal feel good tunes - essentially that are along the lines of his spotify top 10 songs?

So far I can see Arcadia DJ set, Glade set, and an ambient set on the Woods stage.

The glade set

The Glade set is his own material in the A/V show, so it's really beautifully constructed IDM, usually with a little twist into more liquid DnB tempo and vibe for a bit.

Tree Stage is ambient, as said, and Arcadia is a DJ set, which is difficult to predict. There are very few MC DJ sets online that I can find. It's middish tempo stuff. He might crank it up a bit on the Dragonfly, I guess.

I like the area and agree it gets a harsh review. It's just that, musically, it doesn't really have much of what I'm looking for. The venues themselves are cool, and it still feels like a proper, slightly grimy Glastonbury dance area. Just a bit too much of a profile of DnB and Bass for me, tho' if you take some time to look you can often find some old school rave/breaks too - @Supernintendo Chalmers is the master at uncovering these!
