Turbowolf' new album is pretty great to be honest, good new band. As well as Wolf Alice and Drenge who've had mentions. The Wytches are good too.

Turbowolf are bloody brilliant!! Known them for years since they started out. Amazing to see how big they're getting!!

And yet - BOOM - out of the blue i'm a woman hater?!

Fucking lazy and cheap, dude.

Edit - Ok. Fuck it. Let's single me out as a nice little catch all woman hater to niftily mop up every fucking comment from anyone on here. Nice.

I am lazy - this isn't really my battleground but I'm a little bored of reading it so thought I'd say something. You don't see anything wrong in sarcastically saying "God, she's gorgeous" every time a particular woman is brought into conversation?

I don't know you or anyone on internet forums enough to outright label you a woman hater either and I did say other people were doing similar. I just don't think it's really pertinent to the headliner discussion to talk about someone's looks.

All about Joanna Gruesome. Great band, terrible name.

I like this a lot! Never heard before

A friend in Australia told me of these a couple of weeks back, love 'em!

I've only ever said that about Florence.

And when have I ever said it sarcastically?

Edit - Actually. Doesn't matter. I'll sit my 3 daughters down tonight and apologise to them for it.

I'm out.

Cheers for the reality check and realignment. Much needed and appreciated.

Great band, great name, you mean? I've decided not to see them in Salford next week, so I need them to show up at Glastonbury, or Latitude, or Green Man (Green Man really should invite them back after they couldn't do it last year). New album stuff is sounding great.

In response to your earlier question; First Aid Kit did indeed tour with Los Camp! a few years ago, I would have loved to have seen the backstage drunken antics that were going on there. I suspect Klara and Johanna are secretly a pair of wreckheads when they aren't on stage.

Shit, man. It's not meant to be a big thing - I'm not calling you Dapper Laughs or anything - I just felt it worth gently pointing out that it's a bit over the line.

Interviewing Turbowolf tomorrow if there's any questions you'd like answered :)

Great stuff. Ask them if all the two word titles on the new album was a conscious decision. If that's not too boring; reading it back it sort of is.

Have just got in from a long drive home, don't know if it's been discussed but did anyone hear the interview with everything everything on radio 1. They somehow got onto the topic of Bjork and it seemed like one of the band let slip something about her. I wasn't fully listening but it seemed that he said something like ''she's coming back aswell, playing ... 'The' festival". To which everyone swiftly moved on from. Apologies if I was hearing things or this has been discussed. Thought I'd put it out there

Yeah that was a bit harsh, I actually quite like how bad a pun it is. I love bad puns. As opposed to Chet Faker, which I just think isn't even endearingly naff.

Friend of mine ran into Los Campesinos! in a club in our first year of uni. Apparently the guys weren't dancing so she invited Kim to dance with her. Quite vehemently. And drunkenly.

Are Everything Everything not from Manchester? Could easily have been about her playing Manchester International Festival

Anyone see Dogstar at Glasto '99? That was a bag of fun! Infact, thinking about that, Keanu Reeves was in Glastonbury with Nicholas Cage the other day. Maybe he was in final talks with Eavis to headline with Dogstar?!!

and there is plenty of good British music.....radio friendly enough good music for people to have heard of in the mainstream? not so much....but since when does `being mainstream enough for radio play`=talent?

Look at a band like orange goblin, touring relentlessly for nigh on 20 years now, hell of a tight live band, hell of a good band on album.....but theyll never get any radio play because stoner/doom rock isn't going to ever be the next big thing with today's version of teenyboppers haha cult heroes among their genre though always respected always cited as an influence by many other musicians, always a shame when hardworking bands like that get ignored in favour of shit like mcbusted.....but then thats been the state of the music industry for longer then ive been alive and breathing!

Heres some of the mighty goblin......id love to see this on one of the more intimate venues at glasto btw

Orange Goblin, all well and good but I think we can all agree we've had waaaaay too much purple goblin' going on in this post.

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
