If it's not 'he who shall not be named' or Blur (which I dunno, sort of feels a bit weird. It's great for people who haven't seen them before but the 2009 set was just so good, as a band, would they want to (money aside), want to put a possible dent into the legacy of that set?). Maybe I'm being too precious about it. It was for me, one of the most amazing Glastonbury sets I've seen (and somehow I've managed to get to every Glastonbury since 1993 so I've seen a fair few sets over the years), and that one in 2009 was just something very very special.

Anyway, I digress. If the other headliners are not those two (or possibly ELO or Madge) then I'd be quite happy. I'll be watching Foo Fighters on Friday and would quite like to be at West Holts, The Park or Other etc for my other headliners. So basically I think what I'm saying is I just don't care anymore who headlines! I'm actually far more curious about who else is playing. It was such a nice surprise to see the BBC Radiophonic Workshop on the bill for 2014. That set was great!

ELO? Is that a possibility

Probably not. Just wishful thinking. They have been mentioned in this thread but only as another possibility. They (well Jeff Lynne and friends) are playing Brighton on the Friday so maybe they might be in the mood to do a festival. I'd love it but don't think it will happen. At this point, anything could happen!

Astonishing. A lesson for all budding folk popsters right there.

I think anyone who likes Mumford needs locking in a room for a few days with the Falls back catalogue. I am not really the Falls biggest fan but they would knock some reality into people.

when emily did that interview saying its not any of the rumoured acts, i dont think blur were rumoured??

They were, but had only been rumoured for a few days - and it's quite possible that Emily wasn't aware of the addition.

As ever, that's one of the many things which Scott and I talked thru after the interview. So Emily could mean Blur, but there's nothing to indicate she's definitely meaning Blur.

The only reason why I am thinking its going to be someone "massive" is the fact that when the stones were announced, it was like this. No real confirmations then bingo... All at once*

Foos

Kanye

Someone huge or / prone to secrecy, who is not a "rock" band.

Madonna / Elton / Prince / Daft Punk

*I appreciate past performance is no guarentee of future performance!!

Just had a little look and you can still get Blur tickets for Hyde Park, so maybe waiting til that sells out to announce

I'd be surprised if it sold out at those prices to be honest. I'm waiting until much closer to the date in the hope of picking up a cheap tickets (likewise for the Strokes).

Came back on here after a couple hours of half arsed work, to see someone, if serious or not, suggesting Kaiser Chiefs, as a headliner for Glastonbury, I wasn't annoyed, or angry, or even laughing

Just upsetting that this is what its came to

KoL, Kaiser Chiefs and Killers have been brought up recently thank flip Kasabian headlined last year

Was reading a poll of who people would want to headline glastonbury (last year)

Pharrell was 4th favourite behind bowie, Foo's and p*****

I don't think he's big enough tho is he? Sub at best?

Was going to suggest someone should do the same for this year until your second sentence. Pharrell only subbed smaller festivals last year so I don't know why he was even considered possible.

I have a sneaking suspicion it might be Daft Punk. They were looking at sites for some pretty big gigs later on this year which confirms they are definitely going to do some kind of tour. And they've not been rumoured that much this year. The likes of Nile Rodgers, possibly Pharrell, would surely put in an appearance too.

where's that "looking at sites for some pretty big gigs later on this year" from?

Is it from that site halfway up some american mountain? That was a faked story.
