    1008

For me personally, its an equal tie with 2008 for worst set of headliners since I started following the festival in 2003. I have a little interest in the Foos, but looks like Suede will be clashing with them anyway.

That said, I loved having a wander around during Metallica last year. Jon Hopkins and Mogwai were superb.

But hang on, never mind the death of this thread, if we're prepared to believe a band will cancel other (even sold-out) gigs to headline this year, then it's still *all* to play for!!

Open the door and welcome back in:

Fleetwood Mac - they'd cancel their Saturday slot so it's *not* three in a row

AC/DC - Never mind a quick flight from one gig to the next, cancel Glasgow!

Has anyone mentioned Muse? Because they should, they're on the verge of disappointing 6,000 Belgians to headline Glasto...

And duck before Sting hears that he can make it after all.....

Done the same. Nothing is changing my opinion of them. Love Substitute (always have), quite like some others (always have), the rest leaves me cold. I guess by now, if I was ever going to get into them, I would have done already.

3rd successive Glatonbury Sunday in the Caberet Tent?

I don't know much about The Who to be honest, I know I've heard one or two of their tracks. It all depends who is on elsewhere for me because if there's someone I'm a fan of on elsewhere then it's no contest. Then again if I have to settle for The Who then I don't want to be stood watching liking a silent dumpling.

Sunday from late afternoon onward on Pyramid (based on last years times)

Lionel Richie 16:20 - 17:30

A N Other 18:00 - 19:00

Noel Gallagher or Paul Weller 19:45 - 21:00

The Who 21:45 - 23:15

Looks pretty bleak to me at the moment though guess others will love it.

Third down is Alt-J

Hopefully the sub isnt NG or Weller and the Sun were just guessing about that bit, at least

Im pleased we know now, or at least seem to, tbc is good enough for me regardless of coldplay.

Anyway, I'm pleased its someone im not interested in, wanted to make sure i could see the whole of belle and sebastian on park and then wander over to something else to end the evening.

Kinda disappointing though cos i imagine a lot of my friends would go just because its the who. Think a lot of people will be there for that very reason, and the performance will just fall a bit flat as a result, they don't have the plethora of hits that prince, stones, macca etc. have to wow a crowd where a lot of them are just there for the novelty factor.

Whats your definition of hits? Prince has 10 uk top tens, the Who have 13.

If you don't believe me the 13 are:

I can't explain (8)

Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere (10)

My Generation (2)

Substitute(5)

I'm a boy (2)

Happy Jack(2)

Pictures of Lily(3)

I can see for miles(10)

Pinball Wizard(4)

Wont get fooled again(9)

Join Together (9)

Squeeze Box(10)

You better you bet (9)

Plus plenty of people will know who are you, I can see for miles and Baba O'Riley from being used as CSI theme tunes.

If the changes to the current line up listings is causing so much consternation, it's surely worth noting that Neil doesn't currently believe The Who are the SPECIAL GUESTS, as both are TBC.

Will probably change

Oh well Chemical Brothers it is then (assuming they ARE on the Other stage Sunday - if this Noel and Weller talk is true then where do alt-j fit in to this equation? Unless they're subbing Chems / the weller bit is wrong)

Who gives a shit about the people in Paris, let them worry about that. Jesus Christ ur a pedantic bunch.

Nice attitude John.

No, you're right. I'm not going to watch The Who anyway. I don't have a ticket to that Paris gig. It won't directly affect me. So why on Earth should I be bothered by rude, contemptuous behaviour, showing no regard for the people who put them in the position they are, and put food on their table.

Good point. Well made. And entirely in keeping with the egalitarian, communal attitude that the festival likes to promote. You're my idea of a perfect Glastonbury festival goer. We should meet up for drinks 'n' stuff.

The pyramid headliner clashes with the Other headliner AND sub, means they could clash with Jamie T as well as Chems

is Jamie T definitely other sub? Was really looking forward to Jamie T and been listening to his albums non stop recently, but the Who are my favourite band ever. Would be a horrible clash for me

Not sure I'm going to be able to hear Daltrey sing "Talkin' 'bout my generation" and "I hope I die before I get old" without thinking of Michael Parkinson and his Sun Life insurance adverts for pensioners.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
