I forget who's legitimately 'in the loop' around here. Is this comment worth paying any attention to?

(Please say yes).

Ha, cabin fever is at an all time high here.

I am not remotely in the loop... hence the might. I was just thinking as we cross more and more people off the list, the more and more likely we get scream along to all to well in the Pyramid field.

Quite.

Regardless of whether it was actually the case, if they could make it look like the only tickets that have been returned were coach tickets, that'd be a hell of a middle-finger-salute to those who predicted that Kanye's booking wokld bring about the festival's demise, given the perception that there aren't many coach tickets...

Maybe, just maybe it has nothing in the slightest to do with Kanye? fucks sake.

Martin probably already has

 Out of plus 1s :(

20th at the earliest now I bet

I was thinking Wednesday 29th until this - not immediately after the resale, which could piss people off, but in before the election hype which will be ridiculous from the evening of Thursday 30th onwards. All bets are off now IMO. Edited by Zac Quinn

I heard it's going to be Sonia.

(I guess the youngsters might have to google that one, tho they'll wish they hadn't :P).

I literally bumped into her at Cheshire Oaks Sainsburys. I called my wife to say, 'you'll never guess who I just bumped into....Sonia!'.

'Sonia from Eastenders??' my wife replied.

'Yes Mrs Taff, Sonia from Eastenders is regularly doing a 200 mile trip to the Cheshire Oaks Sainsburys as she particularly likes the deli counter'.

True story.....

Didn't someone say earlier that Emily had tweeted and said the lineup will be out before the resale? or did I imagine that? Or was it bollocks? Can't be arsed to do the whole twitter thing

There was a tweet I saw, but upon closer inspection I think it was either subsequently deleted or someone doctored a tweet and retweeted it to appear as though there was a response

    • How much is Burnham's success down to Manchester getting a shitton of investment for public transport infrastructure?   There's no doubt he did the work, but the money dumped into Manchester for him to achieve that was huge - the most of any infrastructure project outside London ever. Did that need a mayor, or just the money?
    • Sounds good tbh.
    • Bristol was the only city in 2012 that voted for a mayor. We had a local independent who was popular, then Marvin Rees won and was so corrupt that Bristol voted to get rid of the position - having just had the WECA mayor position put in place as well.
    • They built a watering system and have been watering the island for the past few weeks to reduce dust, but given the current drought, there will still be dust. They will cover twice as much ground around the main stage with those plastic panels as they did before. They couldn't book Gogol Bordello because the singer was afraid the government would allow Russian security services to capture him if he entered the country. They didn't have much room to be selective about artists. They booked whoever they could get. This year's Sziget will be only about 50% of his original vision. He wanted a dedicated rock stage. They are preparing for a loss of 1.5 billion HUF this year. For some reason, student tickets are not selling in the numbers they had expected. He said that when he talks about the lineup being less important, he doesn't mean Sziget should have a weaker lineup than Primavera. Rather, it should have a similarly strong lineup combined with much more non-musical programming, so people from abroad come here to see the same artists but have a completely different overall experience. He didn't miss Sziget and originally wanted to spend no more than two days a week dealing with it, but now he's working on it full-time and has handed over control of the rest of his businesses.
    • Well the point seems to be 22.7% turn out doesn't suggest the majority are rushing out to support the mayoral system.
