Nope, Hyde Park (a radio 2 thing) last summer.

That was his first gig in decades.

He did IOW in 2012 - wasn't as brilliant as it might have been as I recall. Wouldn't fancy him on the sunday at Glastonbury - the masses wouldn't be best pleased I feel.

A solo male artist with a backing band that has a new album out this year, made one of the biggest selling albums ever, been around for many years, never (as far as I am aware) played Glastonbury before... it must surely be Meat Loaf

(By this I am not necessarily suggesting I *want* it to be this, but one of his songs was on the radio and it occurred to me that he kind of fitted the loose description that Neil mentioned the other day so figured I might as well post something for the first time in about five years)

Personally I am hoping it will be Jeff Wayne (male "soloist") conducting his band with a rendition of "The War of the Worlds" and featuring David Bowie singing Justin Hayward's part of the journalist to round off the weekend with an epic musical.

After all, each person that gets told is another person who could leak it, and anyone who does get told is likely to tell at least one other person.

This was my thinking...also I guess it depends a lot on when exactly that information was passed on.

To avoid the inevitable backlash, they've tricked us into believing they were trying for somebody else (e.g. Prince) but had to settle for Florence instead .. When she has been booked all along!!
