Article posted on the 28th Feb about william hill says..

Who will headline Glastonbury 2015 (last Act Pyramid Stage Sunday Night): 5/1 AC/DC; 6/1 Taylor Swift; 8/1 Coldplay; 9/1 Elton John; 10/1 Muse; 12/1 Madonna,12/1 Paul McCartney; 14/1 Blur; 14/1 Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds; 16/1 Depeche Mode, 16/1 Queen and Adam Lambert; 16/1 Rihanna; 20/1 Fleetwood Mac; 20/1 Florence and the Machine; 20/1 Pharrell Williams; 20/1 Prince; 25/1 BAR

The 2 types of people I've ever heard say "I don't like pop music" IRL.

1. Under 18s

2. Archetypal 'metalheads'

3. Classical music nerds

3, Dickheads

Are you telling me the only people who don't like One Direction are either under 18s, archetypal metalheads, classical music nerds or dickheads?

What?

I could've sworn there weren't any Will Hill markets in February right up until the end (after NME awards). Paddy Power and Betfair were the ones people sunk Coldplay money into.

5th of Feb they had a 'Glastonbury Specials' on one of their podcasts.

Googled it, not becuase I have a massive gambling problem...

I think you're giving One Direction far too much credit in claiming they represent all pop music

Well they are the epitome of pop aren't they? Most chart music you could just about pigeon hole into some other genre, but if we're talking pure pop...

If chemical brothers do headline the other (as suggested) which day is most likely?

I'm concerned they are nailed on for Saturday against Kanye which would not suit me as i can foresee my group of mates wanted to see Mr west more. is there a chance they could be on Friday or Sunday?

I think they'll do the Saturday personally

..........then its not them. They're "bubblegum" pop.

This is a conversation in semantics that could go on forever. So I'm doing a Bannatyne on it.

Depends what people mean by 'pop music' but I'd say they are faily typical of what peoplemean when they say they dislike pop music.

I knew as soon as I hit 'Post' that I was getting into something I didn't want. I'm out too.

no i think you've missed the point completely, he's saying that only people who categorically say they don't like the entire genre are dickheads

and he's right, anyone that writes off an entire genre based on the fact it's classed as that genre is a dickhead

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
