Fair play, at least you are thick enough to come from Manchester.

Well, they have apparently been sitting on a new album for a while with a speculative 2015 release... so that'd be a good reason to headline... and there's no question of them being headliner worthy since they've headlined festivals before and the big shows at Heaton Park.

Not questioning there headliner status just a little baffled at how they managed it on the back of relatively little material! Getting flashbacks of the discussions over Florence vs Mumfords record sales etc!

That Gazza breakdown consisted of a chicken and 4 pack of beers didn't it?

I must say his breakdown is going to last until his untimely death bless him. Everytime I see he's getting better the next week he's back on the booze.

Can someone explain why the Stone Roses got so/are so big? It baffles me that with one truly awesome album and one ropey one both released over 20 years ago they have managed to maintain such a following. I wouldn't mind them headlining but it seems odd timing. Why would they have not done it when they initially made their come back to effectively pick up from where they left off?

Edit: Would prefer an answer from anyone but ball-baggies4life

That was asked this morning...

As for why not last time. There was a live DVD and shane meadows film. The BBC coverage of glastonbury would have harmed that

    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
    • live music / main stage will generally end around 11pm but theres dj’s and late goings on right till 4am if you are so inclined.   Drinks are about £7.50 a pint probably and yes theres lots of mixed drinks / spirits / cocktails available to buy   wonderful festival, back for my third year in a row and 4th overall
    • If anyone sees Lakefest this weekend on any sites please post here, I’ve got alerts set. Been on TFG in recent years and not sold out yet.
