The idea that Radiohead would play any album in its entirety is laughable, this is a band who refuse to play some of their most 'popular' songs even for a festival crowd, in favour of the more interesting or most recent material

In comparison, Arctic Monkeys and Colplay had exactly the same gap between performing and produced several records in the interim period. I'm not saying that you have to keep releasing albums to merit a headline slot, but with it being a relatively short period (for Glastonbury) since they're last performance it seems quite soon to me....

It'd be the same set with less anticipation, less "classic" songs and less emotion. That's why I think that Blur will not headline again. I could be wrong though.

If Radiohead were announced and it was confirmed to be them playing The Bends in full I'd be massively pissed off.

I think it's definitely thier most accessible album so as someone who isn't nuts about Radiohead it is their easiest album to listen to. I think other albums have moments of brilliance which makes them more appealing albums than The Bends. I don't think full albums work at Glasto anyway, it's not really the done thing. It's a bit of a gimmick.

I sort of agree, although not for the time scale or lack of material.

I went along to see Blur in 2009 not being a big fan and so not expecting much. Of course, it ended up being very enjoyable indeed and many seem to think it was one of the best headline shows ever.

Is there a chance that it might fall a bit flat if they headlined again? Would we all be expecting too much? Sometimes it's better to leave memories alone.

Apologies. I know that album is going to be released, but it's not out yet. I suppose it's a moot point. I was simply trying to point out that as an act that has played Glastonbury relatively recently there has been a lack of new material throughout this period. I'm not saying this is a good thing or a bad thing, more of a canvas of opinion.

Strangely, I'm of the opinion that it wouldn't matter if it was say 10 years since they last played and hadn't released anything else (excluding album about to be released). I've never thought about it before, I was simply surprised they were being touted as a headliner shout when they played not so long ago.

Anyway, ignore my meanderings. I'll probably be at West holts anyway ;-)

Ian Brown is the only permanent singer in The Stone Roses, but at any Stone Roses gig there are tens of thousands of singers, all of them are shit, but they sound amazing together.
