Hot Chip are one of the true wonders of creation. Historically important across the aeons of time.

Florence is just shit, awful, ineffectual, thoroughly untuneful and uninteresting, unworthy of any attention, a sideshow for floundering idiots.

Hot Chip are fantastic. The first band since the Mondays to create something that is totally individual and original. Plus they manage to wrap it all up in really fun pop songs. After New Order and Depeche Mode, Hot Chip are the band I would most like to see at Glasto.

For my sins I do like the 2nd Florence album.

I dunno if these sort of sweeping generalisations do anything much bar give Hot Chip's detractors something to giggle over.

I will rephrase it then. Hot Chip are the 1st band that I have heard since the Mondays that sound totally original and individual.

holy crap this hyperbole about hot chip! They were fun before the flaming lips the other year but that's about it.

The flaming lips absolutely blew them away too, as expected.

To be fair though The Flaming Lips have been going a lot longer than Hot Chip and have a far more extensive back catalogue to call on.Plus they had longer on stage to showcase it and people would have been a lot more smashed by the the time Flaming Lips came on.

that extra hours drinking made all the difference!

But I dont wanna trash hot chip, I really enjoyed them and hope they play again.

    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
