As potential new headliners get thinner on the ground, is there good reason why no-one seems to be considering the re-appearance of a massive name from recent years? No-one seems to be discussing the possibility of a repeat appearance for someone like Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young or Paul McCartney, even though many more modern bands have re-headlined at more frequent intervals.

Springsteen didn't go down well and IIRC ME has come out and said they're "pleased they got Macca just in time before his voice finally went once and for all". So either Neil Young or Stevie Wonder again. Would take that.

Paul McCartney might have some water to it...

I think we should just start a thread definitively announcing three Pyramid Headline acts as confirmed, everyone else go with it as true and post accordingly, shove it all over our Twitter accounts, etc, and see how long it takes NME and then the Bizarre column in the Sun to report it.

To the extent that the Eavii have to confirm or deny.

Did that on my teams football messageboard. Our local rag always trawl through it.

A few of us said we were after a striker and seen Emile Heskey at the ground. The paper ran with it and the manager had to deny it.

To preserve Neal's integrity, I propose either Dentalplan or Brave Sir Robin to break the massive 'news'.

Both are very adept fact-finders.

They arrested the guy that hacked in and leaked it.

Oh shit really? Maybe not then

arrested or... "Cheers for helping with our stunt, we're gonna tell the world you're arrested but in reality we're giving you $200,000 and a mansion in the middle of nowhere that you can now elope to".

Can't beat the "Carlos Tevez to Doncaster" rumours that were in the papers a few years back :D

I think this is fake. They announced a band called Eliphant or something last night, who aren't on this.

Unsure, on the reddit they don't really know what to think

6/7 of the bands last night were on the poster so it's really up in the air. Plus the 7 bands they confirmed were all very niche acts, so it's a bit odd that someone predicted that 6 of them would be there.

I don't think it's fake imo

I was just following Matt's joke, which I assume was a continuation of the Other Stage thread, where someone is suggesting them as Other headliners.

Phew!

I think we need to get serious about this fake headliner thing.

Just wondering who has the nuts to start a Headliners Confirmed thread... :)

I know it is a very long short but as the Eavii look at this site they may have read the thread run last year to find out the most popular headliner from the past and booked one of the top few?

How about Stevie Wonder?

only headlined in 2010 and Glastonbury doesn't seem to re-book the huge, legend-esque headliners. i doubt he'll play the festival again

    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
