She's normally the main force behind BBC's coverage isn't she?

Zane had the big announcement last year?

Thought it was Laverne and Radcliffe at the festival?

Edit: Zane may have been year before. Last years big announcement was early in the morning

Metallica were announced on Zane Lowe's show last year but that was it, think he had the main 2013 announcement as well like you say.

You know, even with what we know, and there's a few dribs and drabs coming out now, I reckon we're in for a cracking lineup this year.

Yeah! Seems like every smallish but great band is likely to be there - there's obviously gonna be a few that Glasto will miss but i'm sure we're gonna get a cracking undercard as usual.

I'd say all that this year is missing - is self confirmations from massive acts.

Last year we had bands like the Black Keys, Lily Allen, Lana Del Rey, Skrillex etc self confirming on their own terms - Don't think anyone to that caliber has self-confirmed for this year yet. Don't think we have any self confirmations from bands likely to headline stages / take massive slots yet...

A review of who's releasing/touring suggests that my first GF is very likely to have an undercard tailor made for me. Clashtastic, but so, so good...

Saw Vintage Trouble last night and they confirmed they are at Glastonbury. They did seem a little vague on the day though.

Excellent, how was the new material ? They've got an new EP out according to their website

Sounded good. Great show in Bristol. I'm sure they can produce an excellent set at Glastonbury after the rain shortened effort last year.

They've played twice in recent years right? Once opposite the Stones somewhere and the other on park during the storm? West Holts this time?

I saw them opening for the stones at hyde park, they could nail an early pyramid slot.

They headlined Avalon opposite the Stones, then played West Holts last year, but only managed 10 mins before the storm. They're rumoured for West Holts again, which I think is a good place for them.

They were on West Holts when the storm hit. Played one song then .........

They've been supporting Paloma Faith on her tour and have been going down very well by all accounts.

Edit: Whoops - too slow!

    • 2 really good albums IMO. Fun, really good musicians, energetic, can dance to it.    I'd take that over the couple of dozen twee ernest singer songwriter 2 chord dross acts on the bill most years.
    • They will have strictly 14 days to comply, at the end of which they will strictly have another 14 days to comply.
    • Bonobo has a new album out in September.  Touring the US the end of this year, so hopefully UK dates and festivals in 2027.  Would make a superb Park headliner.
    • I was following up to pink_triangle's post about what Reform are saying they will do to find money for defence spending.   But with Labour, they may well water down or delay some of the net zero commitments, they may find ways to cut welfare spending with Pat McFadden's welfare review thing, but I don't think it's going to be near enough. They really tied themselves down with the tax commitments in their manifesto, just reversing Hunt's NI cuts would have gone a long way. Under Burnham I think they may try and reform some of the tax system, land taxes and levies etc. Certainly needs reforming. But that might all be after a general election if Labour were to win.  I reckon they will try and do something with fiscal rules to borrow more, and try and persuade markets to go along with them.  (and he's already rowed back on that waspi thing...I think his team and others in Labour had a word).
