Oh yeah. Assumed it was a monday because that's usually when albums come out, but yeah, what I said still applies I guess

Friday is now the global release day:http://pitchfork.com/news/58636-record-industry-announces-friday-as-global-release-day/

Bit shit really, I liked getting a pre order before the official release day :P

There's nowt to say you won't anymore.

While true its more likely to arrive on the day with a friday.

You get them early, to make sure its there in time for Monday with I guess most places not wanting to pay warehouse staff on a saturday/sunday =p

Went to see Slaves on Thursday and Frank Carter last night, a few thoughts

Slaves were fun as always; they're starting to change up the setlist to acclimatise with being a bigger band and putting on more of a show, the set opened with Are You Satisfied which I thought was a nice change of pace to the usual first minutes of a Slaves show. They didn't play any tracks that were released prior to the album which is a little bit of a shame, but they played Sugar Coated Bitter Truth so I'm definitely content

Frank Carter was excellent; they played Fangs twice and practically every person in the venue stagedived, including the promoter and Frank Carter's manager

The support VANT were okay; some cringeworthy political lyrics but reasonably fun indie punk otherwise

was thinking the same thing :/

Could it be Rise Against again? Not as big as ADTR and they have a history of playing there. Not sure who else it'd be, ADTR are too big now probably, Hollywood Undead only because they were at Download are way too small, Shikari have their own tour. BVB is an option. In fact, I think it could sell well with both of those two.

I doubt it is Rise Against after they did do the last one. I'm guessing Sleeping With Sirens

Hope it's not Rise Against, they weren't that good last time at warped. Would hate Hollywood Undead or SWS. Knowing that it is going to be in Kerrang! doesn't really help :/

I would hate SWS but if I'm honest I don't usually find enough on one day for me. It was only really Rise Against and Billy Talent I wanted to see, I've heard some people felt underwhelmed by RA at Download this weekend too.

Gnarwolves last year, only had 3 lines of people from the front of the barrier and quite a few of those people there seemed be there just to get to the front for Arctic Monkeys (these girls kept turning around and looking at me because I was singing along). Still the best set of the day though and was actually one of the most intimate sets I saw that weekend too and it was actually down to the small crowd. Shame they're not playing again this year, would have been great to see them in the Lock Up :(

I can't even really remember who played. Hatebreed were band of the day definitely

    • Lovely Brexit doc on bbc2 for anyone who wants to relive those golden years.
    • I think some folks are underestimating how many millennials, now into heavier music, were genuinely also into things like techno and happy hardcore in the 90s and early 00s. Scooter may be about is commercialized as it gets when it comes to happy hardcore and techno, but for many, they won't be just a 'silly act' they will be a genuine nostalgia act.
    • Can anyone share please as can’t access the app
    • Someone said something along the lines of "the lows were really low but they highs were really high" and I think that sentence sums up my ps experience this year. Thursday was a downer (even though I got to see men I trust, geese, oklou and fcukers), but the weather, the missed shows and the uncertainty (those comms...) made it a bad day. Friday and Saturday on the other hand where rly good, a bunch of amazing shows each day (The Cure one was quite something), that surprise on Saturday...   Will be back next year, hope they get another impressive lineup as this year (quality and quantity wise) and that tickets and  primarily hotels don't get much more expensive.
    • Rosalia Radiohead NIN MGMT Bjork David Byrne   Also Vince Staples' new album is cool. I could see him returning.
