I’d personally love it. It’s young, fresh and a little bit risky if it is Olivia Rodrigo.5 points

Talented individual, but proper 'marmite'! Rightly or wrongly, a significant cohort of EOTR regular attendees are still scarred by her last attendance there, mainly 'cos she pretty much insisted that every other stage / act was quiet at the time of her performance. No option, watch her with no alternative. For that reason alone, I personally hope she is nowhere near a GM line up.4 points

If mullogan and o'hare are playing anywhere at glastonbury it will be the best festival ever.3 points

I reckon she's better positioned with crowd-pleasers than either Billie or Stormzy. Drivers Licence, Vampire, Good 4 U, Get Him Back, Bad Idea Right? are all big tunes.3 points

I think Ghost should headline. Bit of Mary on a cross to get the deckchair brigade going.3 points

20 years since Aha Shake Heartbreak. An hour secret set in Woodsies playing the full album please. Would still give 20 minutes to throw in 4 other songs. Wishful thinking.3 points

I hope Sziget booked Charli XCX, her new single Von dutch SLAPS, I think her show would be amazing 💥2 points

The podcast that James Scarlett (Trees and ATG booker) and the Damnation booker have just started (2 Promoters, 1 Pod) is mint. Gives a really good insight into booking bands and issues like logo size on the poster. Dillinger was offered for all three fests, but James could only afford a third of their requested fee max, and also didn't want to book them just playing the first album. Their At The Drive In and Refused bookings sound like they kinda regret spending a lot of money on a reunion band. It's on Spotify, but there's a YT link too. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxZgB-AxWBjXjmgNJ8aLfrQ2 points

there's been little discussion cause about half the forum's regular posters left due to the previous owner and post elsewhere. Including most of the in the knows. The muse adele coldplay year it was known in advance but it still has way more discussion2 points

Yes, apparently a reliable source has said he’s out of BST, meaning almost certainly Glastonbury (similar to how the Madonna rumours broke down?). Whether he had signed/sealed and pulled out or was in some stage of moderate level of negotiations that broke down is speculation. Glasto have to replace with whoever the biggest act available is, which by common consensus will be no one as decent as stevie. And whether this all happened this morning leaving glasto scrambling, or is actually old news and not to worry glasto already have a substitute headliner sorted, is again anyone’s guess! I know a lot of us were hoping for an announcement tomorrow (based on nothing) so that’s very much up in the air too. think that’s a close-enough summary!2 points

f**kinell. The screaming. Save us, Baby Jesus. If I had that tuneless fecker next to me as well I think I might just self-immolate and try to take as many people with me as possible2 points

I can't remember what all the leaks were involving BST, there isn't a chance they just got told "Stevie" as part of it and assumed Wonder when it's actually Nicks?2 points

I may be completely underestimating her stock, however I just don't see O-Rod as a Pyramid Stage Headliner, personally.2 points

For curiosity's sake, I did a quick look at album sales in the UK. KOL's Only By The Night has sold nearly as much as all of GnR's albums put together. Appetite For Destruction: 1.9m GNR Lies: 100k Use Your Illusion 1: 400k Use Your Illusion 2: 400k The Spaghetti Incident: 100k Chinese Democracy: 300k Total: 3.2m Only By The Night: 3m Once you add in their other albums, KOL vastly outsell GnR in the UK.2 points

GM shared a few bands with Forward last year. I think we can write off the headliners with them being so close, in both time and distance, to each other. However, Romy, Green tea Peng, Yussef Days or Nubya Garcia would be WONDERFUL.2 points

Its important to remember at this point the Daily Mail reported them as "definitely playing" And continue to remember to file anything from them as b*llocks2 points

Yeah, if I can go into work on the Tuesday after Glastonbury, there should be no problem flying from Austria on a private jet, having a day's break and playing again. Otherwise they're wimps.2 points

In two weeks James Murphy will be performing in Ghent together with 2manydjs and it's a real shame that LCD don't have a Belgian show this summer. Please James, Chokri, Dewaele bros, please 🥺2 points

I do think a lot of the frustration is because of the combination of no announcement + everyone being pretty confident we know who the headliners are. with less speculation, it feels like the delay is arbitrary. If we were still here with no clue who was headlining any of the nights we'd be less angry at the lack of news and more distracted by figuring out if Foals are big enough to headline yet.2 points

If anyone is interested we’ve put out a new episode of our podcast talking about our favourite green man rumours ahead of the release tomorrow - it’s how to build a festival episode 82 points

Incase anyone else forgot too, or didn’t know; I was also reminded that requests for buddies/groups etc and bar preferences all get handled around training time - which I think should be in April.2 points

Another solid announcement and even at this early stage I'm really happy with the way the line up is coming together. Was expecting Barry Can't Swim but pleased he's now confirmed. Folamour and Solomun are both very welcome additions as I haven't seen either before. Think there's a good chance they'll put a strong supporting line up in the Boiler to complement Solomun so can't wait to see how that pans out! Already concerned about the late night clashes but it's never a bad problem to have! Will likely get my ticket at the weekend and got my son and his girlfriend coming along too.2 points

Hopefully they'll come through with the required names. Green Man are announcing on Friday so we'll have a better idea who's about for those stages. Will be buying our tickets on Saturday. Difference is I'll be bringing my nearly 17 year old son along this time. Never thought this would happen but I'd rather him go to Pukkelpop than some shite UK festival with loads of idiots and aggro. Line up suits us both thankfully. Anyone else think it seems a bit more of a grown up line up than last year? Wonder if booking the likes of Billie and Anne-Marie had an adverse affect on the beer sales despite selling out 😀 https://consequence.net/2023/06/gen-z-drinking-less-shows/2 points

If you ask me, its Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth and Exodus (who ive always far preferred to Anthrax)2 points

Still hoping for this. Two fresh contemporary female acts and a first proper announced show for Pulp since 26 years (which would be a lot fresher than Coldplay).1 point

Should clarify those dates didn't come from me. Don't think the person has given an update today.1 point

I know I was making loads of noise on here about KOL earlier but I've just remembered was not a phase where someone claimed to have info O Rod had been bumped up to headliner at some point a few weeks back?1 point

Wouldn't be that early. I'd expect about a week gap at least not least because the 6 Music Festival is on that day and Glastonbury won't want to compete with the BBC for news coverage. I would guess we'll be waiting until at least the 18th. There does seem to be the real possibility that Stevie Wonder isn't as finalised as we first thought.1 point

Tip is to get your foot in the door somewhere and work up.......I work a more background role, but get to go to events because I do a lot of background admin for them, then they need help at them and we are first port of call.1 point
