Other Stage Top 5

Recommended Posts

As its Friday -

1) Prodigy 25

2) Chemical Brothers 19

3) Wolf Alice 25

4) Alt-J 13

5) Bloc Party 24

Honourable mention for Haelos in 2016 who performed an incredible set - despite there only being about 50 people there -  Probably would have been more suitable to a much smaller stage but fair play they were brilliant

If she had turned up on time Lana - would have made this list probably as number 1.

Only the most recent five to comment on but:

1. Foals (2022)

2. Avril Lavigne (2024)

3. Fred Again (2023)

4. Loyle Carner (2019)

5. Maggie Rogers (2019)

1. The Hold Steady 2010

2. St Paul and The Broken Bones 2016

3. Eels 2011

4. Frank Turner 2015

5. The Hives 2013

In my head, The Other doesn't offer that much up, but thinking back on it now, I've enjoyed quite a lot there over the years. I could have swapped these out for Idles, Slaves/Soft Play, The Lathums, Teskey Brothers plus a few others.

Don't think I can pick a definitive five (there's been so many) but the first that come to mind are:

Turnstile (2025)

Chemical Brothers (2019 over 2011)

QOTSA (2023 over 2011)

The Prodigy (2025)

Fred Again... (2023)

But then, any of LCD Soundsystem (2016), Skrillex (2014), Major Lazer (2017) are worthy of consideration, too. And I've still not forgiven myself for missing The War On Drugs in 2023

right then...

1. Prodigy (2009)

2. Prodigy (1995)

3. Travis (whichever year it was when it started raining when they played that song)

4. Leftfield (2000)

5. Clare Maguire (2011) i had absolutely no idea who she was, and i didnt want to go anywhere that early, but Mrs -TLR- insisted and i'm glad because Clare Maguire was absolutely fantastic.

🙂

That Haelos set was brilliant. I remember we were all helping to lay out straw over the mud so they could start on time!

Haha didn't know that i dragged myself there 2 mis after they started and was pleased to get in the front row -  There singer Lotti has one of the most incredible voices -  its sad they have struggled for commercial success

This is so hard. We’ve seen and enjoyed so much over the years on The Other …

1) Wolf Alice 25 (right on the barrier)

2) Pet Shop Boys 23 (last minute decision. Unexpectedly brilliant)

3) The National 24 (first time seeing, loved)

4) Lady Gaga 09 (she so needs to come back!)

5) Confidence Man 24 (another last minute decision and so good!)

Christine & The Queens in 19 was also a massive highlight and should really be top 5 but can’t get over how bad their Woodsies headline was a few years later

David Byrne in Glasgow tonight, incredible performance!! Saw the American utopia tour , this was next level, for a talking heads fan this was as near perfect as you’d hope for. Kinda speachless as we were leaving the venue

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
    • Out of interest keep seeing messages saying last 12 hours etc… to buy you full weekend tickets.  Whats that about? Do they take them off sale early?
