2025 absolutely GOATed

It's been 4 weeks.... so now that the paint has dried I'm calling it as one of the best Glastonburys ever.

Definitely neck and neck with 2022 as the best post-pandemic year.

In terms of other great years it's almost certainly in the top 6 or 7 of all time, along with the likes of other vintage years like 1995 and 2010.

100% agree with this.  2022 was my favourite ever.. this year came very close, just a really great atmosphere, great weather, so many great acts.

Maybe it was partly down to managing to get our group together more for various sets and also post headliners.. everything just seemed to work out and it was all so much fun.

My only debate was whether it was one of the best or the actual best and on reflection it's the actual best.

It was basically a perfect week. After missing last year due to health reasons and they're not being one next year there was a lot riding on it. But it delivered on every aspect. Even my shifts, which at first look were a bit sh*t were ultimately part of how perfect it was. Because that shift pattern led directly to the week I had.

Yeah it was a stellar year, one of the very best.

We had a bigger group this time, about 25 of us including several newbies and a few who were talking about it being their last festival. I think that combination and the rest of us knowing we had the fallow meant everyone brought their A game. Just immaculate vibes from the squad throughout.

We were all together for Pulp, proper moment with lots of hugs and tears. Then we finished off with Prodigy for a big old dance.

2022 still the GOAT for me and I think 2024 still holds on to second place.

If I had to put the 11 I’ve been to in order, which I don’t, but I will….

Glad you all had a blast. Not posted much post festival, it’s taken me a while to process everything/decompress!

Probably my best one so far, tbh (I’ve been going since 2014 but skipped 2016). There were enough really good acts across all three days and all my headliners were fantastic. I met a few lovely people from my WhatsApp crew, didn’t go too hard on the booze, and felt like I got the balance just right between getting the most out of it but pacing myself and enjoying some of the quieter areas. If I was nitpicking I’d say it was too hot on a couple of the days but not as bad as recent years and the Sunday was perfect.

I loved it. What a way to see in the fallow.

Various reasons it’s the GOAT, but this is one of them.

Just felt like everyone was giving it an extra 10-15%. Would have been the first time in years many people would have been able to properly let off steam.

Felt like there was a lot of emotion in the air.

Maybe, I think it's different (read: worse, personally) missing a festival that's actually happening though than a fallow/cancellation year.

How would people rank 2023 vs 2024/25?

For me 22 not so good, 23 was great, 24 not so good, 25 great.

 I’m seeing a pattern here

2022?

From memory I didn’t have a good one. Too crowded and for me not a great crowd or atmosphere. I couldn’t even be bothered writing a review

Not like you to be contrary...

2022 was my first and remains my best. Having been back since, there was definitely something in the air that year.

    • Was volunteering at the Women’s Cricket World Cup at Southampton yesterday. Was great fun.
    • Definitely see this as being 'weak' on paper but could see a few bumps up from previous sets at Download (Don Broco, Neck Deep etc).
    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
